Very disappointing hotel
The old guy at reception was not able to do check in. I needed to wakt more than half hour. Very annoying I got a room in last floor without air conditioner just a very noisy fan

My laptop was stolen by an unknown guy sharing the same dorm. I left it unattended for 5 minutes and it was gone. Totally unacceptable. Avoid the place, not worth it. Better pay more but be safe.

Just a place to put the head.
The place is not an hostel but a rundown 1 star old hotel with shared dorms, there isn't any place to sit or any atmospher at all. Even the check in while was at night not one recommendation or explanation given and everything had to be asked for.

The bathroom was not tidy (possibly because other guests were just disrespectful). I booked a bed in a 5 person room expecting that it would be a bunk-bed with curtains, but was given a single bed in the middle of the room without any privacy when compared with the other 4 (this information should have been clear upon booking).

The employees here are friendly, but the hardware of the hotel itself is not good (I live in an 8-person room on the 3rd floor, and there are two toilets/bathrooms in the room) 1. The door of toilet/bathroom cannot be locked 2. There is no hand soap and no shower gel/shampoo in the bathroom. 3. The breakfast room on the 1 floor only has tables and chairs, no cutlery, dishes, cups, etc., and no refrigerator. The only electrical appliances are a juice machine and a coffee machine (unfortunately they can't function at this moment). There is no power outlet in the breakfast room, almost impossible to receive wifi signal in this room. 4.The windows are always open to ventilate the room, allowing a lot of noise entering even 2 am or 3 am (drunk ppl).

Well, I decided to start and stay on another 3rd week here very easy to do. Witnessing positive updates on my stay have been “WONDERFUL”. A small mention to SARA at the Front Desk of my rooms hairdryer was not working. She immediately without hesitation graciously came to my room and lended me a hairdryer. That is SUPERBE SERVICE!!..and I THANKED her. This place keeps SURPRISING me each day. I’m GLAD I chose to stay here...it WORKS.

I stayed another week @Safestay and found it to be convenient to remain in the “Center of the City” and close to major Shopping, Café & Restaurants,Train Stations and Tourist Attractions. The front desk help named SEBASTIAN is very welcoming to your needs on a daily basis. He is warm and considerate to understand issues that may come up and he solves them with ease and without argument. I too, am in the CUSTOMER SERVICE field and he gives “EXCELLENT SERVICE” to the guests which I have witnessed on many occasions during my 2 1/2 week stay. My only complaint is that when Sebastian isn’t working there are other front desk workers who are NOT as welcoming and accommodating to the GUESTS. Most times, I have come down from my room there are “Arguments and Confrontations” that guests shouldn’t have to witness each day. I do understand you can’t make 2 out of 50 guests HAPPY during this time in our lives. But, being “Accommodating and Pleasant” is key in making everyone feel alright and comfortable. We ALL need to feel this especially NOW. Bravo for Sebastian for giving that each time to his guests when he is at WORK.

The location was great. There are a lot of stores around the area. It is also walking distance to a lot of tourist spots. The only problem I had was there was not enough plug for my electronics. There are 2 plugs for the tv and cable. I had to remove one of them to be able to charge my electronics so it's either my phone or watching cable tv.

Great Place, Great Area
The rooms and area were great! So many things to do around the area. Lots of shopping and things to see. Close to transportation! Did not get the breakfast, so not sure about that. The only issue is the room key is an app downloaded on your phone. My 3 kids have iPhones and could not get the app to work on their iPhones. I have an Android and was able to get the app to download, but of course had to delete other apps to make space.

This hotel is in very good location. I walked to hotel from centre train station within 20 minutes. It is in tour center and you can find good restaurant and shops. My room is clean. The hotel staff is very nice and helpful. He helped to charge my power bank when I lost my charger.

For none of the 3 days there was the room serviced and the bathroom shower curtain had mold and pretty much made the entire room smell. The location was near a popular restaurant and bar area so the street noise during the day was a constant white noise but at night that was changed to screaming drunks and early morning trash collection. You can beat the location but this isn’t a place for most.

Excellent location--doesn't get better. Great rooms, nice staff. However, don't turn wifi access off the day people are checking out, thereby denying them wifi throughout the final mornign of their stay.

Safestay review Summary: if you are there for one night, great location, you can go every where within 1 min - 30 min walk! If you are there for a few nights, you can probably find other hotels in the same vicinity. Pros: - awesome location, close to everything (Grand Place, restaurants, shopping, museum, parks, Metro stations) - Cleanliness - average, not dirty, but not super clean either - Very safe area Cons: - Elevator not working - we saw reviews since May stating that the elevator isn’t working, guessing they didn’t get it fixed?? - Room closet smells (we couldn’t use it because it smelled so bad) - Amenities - we asked for an iron, the guy said they don’t offer due to fire hazard reasons, which is ok, but his response was rude, he basically said “this is what you get when you stay here” - Staff - some staff were super nice, while others were not, we asked about Uber and he told us that it’s illegal in Belgium and we had to book a Taxi. We asked and researched, and found it wasn’t! I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt, maybe he doesn’t know - we did end up getting an Uber! - Location - although super great location, it’s noisy day and night, if you don’t mind noise, it’s great

This updated hotel is in the heart of the central cafe zone that is pedestrian-only, at night. Great location but we arrived at night and had to walk a long way from the taxi drop off. Also, the many cafes are noisy til very late, then the early morning street sweep machines and beer and other re-supply trucks are deafening. No AC so had to keep windows open. Would be great but too noisy for us.
