From our experience, the rooms at this hotel are clean, beautiful, and come with many amenities except wi-fi, which you actually have to pay to access in another room. The day staff were very amiable and helpful with directions, locating tourist spots, etc.
The only complaint I have is with the night staff, mainly the parking valet. My family had the unfortunate experience of being on the receiving end of his unprofessional behavior.
Upon our arrival, we asked the valet a very innocous question about paying for parking, and instead of simply answering our question as any professional would do, he responded with an extremely condescending tone, "Well, did you pay for your room? Then, of course you have to pay for parking". This might have been overlooked if it weren't for the same condescending tone he used to talk to us the rest of the time. He also asked us where we were from, to which we responded "New Jersey", only to get back "No, where are you REALLY from?", despite the fact that our parents have lived in the U.S. for nearly three decades and consider it very much their home, while my sister and I were born here.
However, without taking into consideration our encounter with the parking valet that left a very bad taste in my mouth, our overall experience was pleasant and I would recommend this hotel.
The hotel is very centrally located and close to good shopping. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were nicely appointed and spacious. But the beds were very comfortable, and for me it's all about the sleep!
Very convenient to downtown activities and walking distance to St Catherines festival at that time. Staff were very nice and helpful. Restaurant next door was excellent breakfast and we also received 10% off our bill because we were booked at the Y. Thankyou.

Overall good stay. Just 10 minutes from the closest metro station. Nearby shops and restaurants by St. Catherine's street. One thing that bothered us was the way the curtains were built. The sunlight woke us up early everyday. Be sure to leave the card in the bed if you want your sheets changed. I would recommend this hotel to a friend.
Most of the city's museums, corporate headquarters, and department stores can be found in downtown Montreal. Crescent Street draws party-goers to its restaurants, bars, and night clubs. Mount Royal Park features the 30m-high (98-foot) steel cross visible across Montreal and illuminated each night. Hockey fans flock to the Bell Centre, home of the Montreal Canadiens.
