“Great hotel”
Had two night stay B+B Jan 2010. Special rate was good value otherwise hotel would have been a bit pricey. Hotel was very good breakfast was good. Staff friendly and helpful. Bar and restaurant very expensive. Definately reccomend.
“close to everything”
Great hotel, staff excellent, room spacious, except the "back in only " W/C. Lounge and dining room were great, breakfast, not so much! Anything cooked at the breakfast buffet was WELL cooked. Parking garage is well priced, but very small and often had to get double parked cars moved to come and go. Great hotel for the money, will stay here again.
“A comfortable hotel with excellent facilities”
The standard of cleanliness at the Edinburgh Novotel (4 stars) is excellent, and the room I had (a queen bed suite) was very pleasant and well-equipped. The breakfast was magnificent, there were plenty of copies of The Scotsman and FT to read, and there is a spotless pool (in which you can swim up and down), together with showers and lockers, spa and steam room. The bar was pleasant, as was the restaurant. Maps were provided, and guidance on quickest walking routes. Handy for the castle, museums, National Library and University, as well as for the Grassmarket quarter. Overall, very good value.
“The perfect Family break with minimum hassle.”
The hotel was great. room ready at 11.30am whic was perfect and really friendly staff. More central than we expected with only a short walk to GRassmarket and then a bracng walk up thehill to get to the Royal mile an the castle. Easy for Our Dynamic Earth too, just 15 ins straight down Cowgate. some nice restaurants nearby and load to see and do The hotel was quiet, clean and whilst a little cosy for a family of four, perfectly adequate wth the added bonus of a proper bath and separate shower. We travelled for a long weekend with our twin boys aged three and had a delightful time from the moment we got to Luton (v easy check in), through the EAsyjet flight (our boys have never flown with anyone else and love it because the staff are always so kind to tem) right throughout our stay. A perfet weekend of sightseeing!
“If you want comfort in Edinburgh .....”
No problems at all with hotel. Nice room, good facilities, excellent position, plenty of choice at breakfast. What more could you want!
“Edinburgh Fringe Hotel”
This hotel is ideally situated for all venues at the Edinburgh Fringe and we were made to feel very welcome. Rooms were spacious and breakfast was as substantial as you would like.
“Excellent hotel near the center of Edinburgh”
This is a very comfortable, well-appointed hotel. We were fortunate in getting a good off-season deal on a queen room with breakfast, so the rate was more than competitive with that of other hotels in the area. The staff was polite, and the breakfast spread very good.
“Excellent value for money”
Spent 3 wonderful nights at Novotel last weekend. Warm friendly staff throughout hotel. Great meals, flawless housekeeping, great location. Separate rooms for toilet and bath. I would have loved a small face basin in room with toilet but I guess lack of space prevented this - still highly recommend this hotel.
“suprisingly good”
We haven't used Novotel before and had a great time there. The room design was stunning and added to the enjoyment.
