Enjoyed our stay at the George. We had a room that had been done up recently so was very comfortable and a good size on the 1st Floor.
Great and friendly front desk Staff and the Concierge chap was very helpful.
Handy walking to most things so a nice stay.
I loved my 5 days at the Fraser Suites. I had room 616, which was down a winding corridor and a small flight of stairs. I had a wonderful view with amazing sunrises and sunsets each day. The room was spacious and comfortable. They really pay attention to every small detail. I had packed my own cereal, which I ate in my room each morning with provided dishes and utensils. The shower was AMAZING! Hot water on demand, without having to wait for it to heat up and the water pressure was fabulous! there was some noise from the alley below, but not enough to keep me awake.
The only downside to this stay was my need to do laundry. While it is free, the hotel has only 2 small dryers, which are needed to split your 1 load of wash as your clothes won't all fit in 1 dryer. They are that small. The desk warned me and I was ready to heed their advice. What ruined the experience was the ignorant Americans who didn't follow the rules, overloaded the dryers with massive loads of clothes each and then left for 2 hours. I sat there and waited for them to come back (even restarting and emptying the lint traps on their clothes twice!) When they came back the clothes were still soaking. the woman threw up her hands, after I told them I had restarted their clothes to help them along, and said well this was such a waste of time and walked out... leaving me there, without as much as a thank you, still holding my wet clothes!! I had to hang them in my room to dry overnight.
This is the third time I've stayed at this city centre hotel and it is still a pleasure. Staff are extremely welcoming and helpful. Location is perfect for city centre attractions, shopping, nightlife, just across from Waverley train station. Rooms are modern and clean and have fabulous showers. I have always had a good nights sleep and have never been disturbed by noise from outside or inside the hotel. Breakfast if paid for is also good value for money as 'help yourself' so you can eat as much or as little as you like. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be staying again in the future.

Brilliant stay here. Very friendly staff and the apartment exceeded all our expectations. Clean, beautiful and rather luxurious. I was very impressed. We even had a knock on the door after arriving making sure everything was ok and offering complimentary shortbread. 5 star service and 5 star location in grassmarket and 5 star accommodation. Many thanks.
