Pos.:
Tight but free parking (rare in SF!)
Free Wi-Fi
Recently remodeled (paper labels are still stuck to the windows as proof).
Mostly clean—though you’ll only get your room cleaned before you arrive and after you leave. (Never have I not had a room cleaned daily. Two day old chicken chowmein no good. I had to get dry towels, and the staff said “I wasn’t on the list” for cleaning, and then finally gave me new ones.)
Neg:
No breakfast, as advertised. Not a deal breaker, but leave it off the “amenities list”.
Awful elevator – broken, small and despite being only available to guests, smells like a urinal.
Check in—10 min. Think they are still on dial-up.
If you have hair, at all, good luck wetting it, forget getting shampoo out of it, and may as well use leave-in conditioner. And will take 10 min. to rinse off. In the remodel, apparently the shower head was replaced with a mister. It’s less powerful than the fog that surrounds the hills around the entire area. I get water conservation, but this is plain ridiculous.
Paper thin walls. Even though the bed frame is literally a board stuck to the wall and the bed is on a pedestal! Super bright can lights, no lamps, no adjusting.
Overall, it’s a place to sleep, but wouldn’t stay again. If you need to stay near SFSU, or in the vicinity, stay anywhere else.
