My recent stay at Odalys City Aix en Provence L'Atrium was nothing short of a disappointment. From the moment I walked through the doors, it was evident that this was not the experience I had hoped for. Common Areas: The first impression was far from pleasant. The common areas of the hotel were shockingly filthy. The lobby, which should set the tone for the entire stay, was dimly lit and had a musty odor. The floors appeared to have been neglected for a long time, with dirt and stains that made you question the last time they were cleaned. It was an unwelcoming introduction to the hotel. Sleeping Rooms: If the common areas were bad, the sleeping rooms were even worse. Upon entering my room, I was met with a stifling smell. The carpets were stained, the walls showed signs of water damage, and the overall cleanliness was severely lacking. The bed linens were questionable at best, and I had serious doubts about their cleanliness. The bathroom was equally disappointing, with mold in the corners and a showerhead that barely produced a trickle of water. Overall, my stay at Odalys City Aix en Provence L'Atrium was a regrettable experience. I had expected a comfortable and clean environment, but what I found was quite the opposite. The common areas were filthy, and the sleeping rooms were even worse. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone, and I urge potential guests to consider alternative accommodations in Aix-en-Provence. This was an unfortunate and unforgettable experience.

Very conveniently located; close to the city centre (rue d'Italie connects it to cours Mirabeau) and Aix-Marseille university. The rooms are studios proper (which I had not expected/noticed upon booking), including a separate kitchen, and very spacious. The room was very quiet, as well.

The hotel is tired and needs refurbishment. The apartment was small. The sheet did not cover the mattress nor did the quilt. You had to go hunting for spare toilet roll! On the plus side it was located near to the old city about 5 minutes walk

The place is filthy. Used towel on the rack not being cleaned. The sofa bed was not set up for the third guest even we registered for 3 persons. When I asked the front desk, he asked me to do it myself! Very disappointing. The attitude of staff member was arrogant.

On the last day of my stay from c.5pm in the afternoon until I left on the afternoon of 28 May my room was without electricity — no light, no power. Although I reported this and checked several times during the night and up till the time came to depart for my flight back to Australia there was absolutely nothing done to attend to the problem — undressing and packing by torchlight is not normally expected of guests in a hotel of the purported class as that held by the Odalys City Aix Hotel. Good location with great selection on restaurants and cafés. The cleanliness of the room and hotel needs to be upgraded. The coffee machine didn’t give change and the staff just looked puzzled when you asked them about that. “I can’t help you” is what I kept getting as an answer. All in all, would I stay there again, yes because of the location to price ratio. But the cleanliness has got me thinking twice on it.

We loved the location and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Though our bus driver couldn't park on the property - expected, because this is an in-town hotel - he found parking convenient to the hotel, which was not the case last year. We loved that the rooms had refrigerators and cooking facilities. The staff was adorable! Really friendly and helpful. Except when there wasn't anything to be done, as was the case with a couple of the trundle beds in the suites, where the wooden slats had broken and not been fixed. Luckily our travelers were resourceful teenagers who simply placed mattresses on the floor. THE BREAKFAST WAS SUPERB! A really complete, nice meal with all kinds of great stuff that these hungry teens adored!

Disappointing
Uncomfortable bed...big wrinkle in actual mattress that I had to work out and then discovered twin beds put together so not comfortable with that ridge down the middle. Room Needed brighter lighting options. Bathroom door full of scuffs and major chips at bottom. Really unsightly. For the price of the room this should not be the case. Room needs attention especially for this price. Furniture in lobby...while it looks nice, full of stains. Breakfast ok. Server did not clear supposedly unused cutlery after guest left breakfast. Who knows if he fiddled with it or not. Option to press your own fresh orange juice nice. But not very sanitary likely. Price of room included daily cleaning. In spite of my putting the sign on the door indicating please make up room, I came back in the evening after a long day of sightseeing only to find the room as I had left it with bed unmade etc. For this price and for hotel to make a special notation about this as a feature was disappointing. You know that feeling when you open the door and.... I did press a bit with front desk man and so he in the end offered breakfast for free. So that seemed reasonable enough. Nite staff out for smoke outside hotel and had to wait for them to come in to speak to. And when they did, overpowering smell of smoke and had my fresh towels sitting on a dirty chair. But it seems there is soooo much smoking in Europe maybe this doesn’t bother most guests.

Great find in Aix en Provence
I found this hotel to be of great value due to the kitchenette. It is in a great location near the Cour Mirabeau (5 min walk). The staff was helpful and they have self serve laundry. Beds were good and the area safe. I'd stay again for sure.

Convenient hotel for the city centre.
Well placed to walk around the city. Not noisy at night. Staff were pleasant and efficient. Nice inner open courtyard area. No free parking on site, 12 euros per day which is expensive for a long stay. Suite cleaned only once during 10 day stay but could pay for more frequent cleaning if required! Decor in suites somewhat dated. Overall though good for the price we paid, £70 per night in September
