This was the most amazing hotel in every way. From the minute you walk in you feel "wow" . From the outside of the hotel you do not expect to see what you are going to see when you walk through those front doors. The Reception room is welcoming, quite dark, but full of old and interesting furniture. Your are immediately relieved of your luggage which is brought to your room and then you are taken on a tour of the grounds, the restaurants, the bar, the gym, spa, AND their on-site cinema!!! The design of the whole place is phenomenal - everywhere is just breathtakingly beautiful, not to mention relaxing, The setting for breakfast and lunch is adjacent to the most beautiful restaurant. You can sit and enjoy your food inside or outside, and I mean ENJOY your food. The chef here is amazing. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and had a delicious meal under the stars both nights - on Saturday there was lovely guitar music in the background, and Jamie, the Hotel Manager/Director made it a point to greet all her guests and have a chat with them. Nice touch. The rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable, en-suite, and each one is named after a Saint. It's a short walk to the town - and if you are feeling more energetic you can climb the steps (I forget how many) to the top of the hill where you can pose beside the typical town signs of Sonora state, and take in the vista of the town below and the surrounding mountains. WE can't wait to go back for another visit.
