Solaqua turned out to indeed be a great deal at a beautiful hotel. When I first booked I was a bit skeptical and feared the deal was too good to be true. Unlike some of the bad reviews mentioned the hotel actually did look like the pictures. I enjoyed a lovely 4 day holiday here exploring the nearby restaurants, beaches, and water activities.
Location- Solaqua is right across from a nice shopping center which has restaurants, a supermarket, and the usual beach shops. There's also a nice assortment of restaurants in walking distance if you continue walking past the shopping center (most don't stay open past 8pm even on the weekend so plan accordingly). The hotel is only about 8-10 minutes from Old Town. I used Uber/taxis, but there is also a little train you can catch.
My only notes would be on the wifi and housekeeping. There is wifi, BUT it's only found in the reception area, lobby, and around the pool. The purchasing packages weren't bad, but it was annoying not being able to use wifi in your room. Housekeeping does do a really nice job of cleaning the rooms, but it takes forever. I'm not sure if there is a small staff, but my room on the second floor often didn't get cleaned until the late afternoon (not a dealbreaker).
