The property needs a proper looking at. The balcony of some rooms opens on to the road where you can literally hop in. Our balcony doors were all broken so you could have someone walk in through it absolutely with ease. We did not therefore end up using both the rooms as we did not feel comfortable to let kids sleep in a room that could be accessed from the balcony. We ended up cramming all in 1 room. The Food is absolutely NOT 4 star but it seems it is pointless mentioning that as I can see the hotel has bad reviews about its food since 2019 so it seems the kitchen manager/head chef must be a relative of the owners or the owner themselves. If you are a vegetarian or eat just Chicken or white meat, DO NOT book here. I ate just salad and chips for 3 days twice a day as there was literally no alternative. The food tasted really not good either so had to eat everything with ketchup and mayo to get some taste. The staff were incredible though. Very friendly and the swimming pools were great although due to the cold weather, we did not enter the pool even once in a week as it was freezing in the water. Overall, I won't recommend the hotel if you're after food and decor but for staff and facilities, I might come back.

Adequate stay DREADFUL FOOD
Arrived at 11am, and was allowed into our rooms early and was given a bracelet for food and drink straight away which was great. Unfortunately it went down hill fast. The food on the sunday was HORRIFIC, now I am not a picky eater in fact I look at reviews and think these guys are just super picky. but lunch and dinner was possibly the worse food in have ever eaten, it was overcooked and one friend spent 10 minutes chewing one piece of meat. The following two days we ate out for the main meal of the day, however, breakfast was nice on both days and the lunches there after were adequate. Rooms are old fashioned but clean. They did the job for what we wanted them for. The hotel only has one main tv and the evening entertainment was adult focused. (this wasn't an issue for us as we drank in the bars and pubs every night.) locally it is nice a 10 minute walk to the main Alvor town that has all the amenities. BASED PURELY ON THE FOOD I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK.

Great value and great staff
The 2 high points of this hotel are the staff who are all so friendly and helpful and the gardens and pool area are beautiful. It's a bit of a walk to the pubs and beach so we were glad to have a rental car but we would definitely go back.

The hotel was good in parts.
Great staff who went above and beyond. OK rooms with air con and a good bathroom. Disappointed with the restaurant. Hot food was never labelled so everyone had to keep lifting the lids cooling it to see what was there then we had to ask staff what each dish was. A simple label would have solved that. Also breakfast was the same every single day. Great outdoor pool and bar, shame the indoor pool was not heated. Not the location for anyone without a car as it is quite a way out of town. The beaches were fabulous when we did go there.

A very good stay for the money only downside was the food variety. But amazing location as Alvor is a beautiful little town with amazing bars and restaurants. Would certainly go back but maybe not all inclusive

This hotel is definately not a 4* as described. The hotel rooms are dated and extremely basic. The hotel description was also not entirely accurate. It stated satalite TV . However, my TV had around 8 channels and no english news channel. The description also said toiletries provided. I received 2 sachets of shampoo and shower gel. The hotel also doesnt provide pool towels. The pool area has 2 lovely lakes, it is clean,spacious and beautiful. The pool staff, Daniella and Marcos were lovely, friendly , chatty, very helpful and professional. Oh and Marcos makes a fabulous Gin and Tonic! The food was really nice. Some people complained it wasnt hot enough and used the microwave. There was also a varied selection to choose from and you certainly wouldnt go hungry. The hotel has an indoor pool, a steam room and a sauna. There is also a small gym. You had to ask reception to turn the steam room on and its was set on a timer which had to be activated again by a key and the reception staff. Regardless of that this was a really nice addition to the hotel, especially as the weather was a bit hit and miss. Overall, I found this hotel a pleasant place to stay.I arrived at the hotel for check in at 11.45 pm and they gave me a food parcel, because I had missed dinner. I thought this was a really lovely touch. I would recommend this hotel, but would suggest that you take your own toiletries, and pool towel. The staff are really nice and genuinely helpful.

Dont go there unless you are Portugese...
No Iron in the room. Laundry facility available to iron individual garments at a price per item. Limited swimming towels. I was given a ripped old towel to use for the duration of the holiday. Limited sun beds, had to lie on the lawn Lack of entertainment. Karaoke singing every night, guests sat around doing nothing. It was very boring in the evenings as there was nothing to do close to the hotel. No bars or restaurants. Restaurants were a taxis drive away, but closed around 10am. Very limited things to do. No Games room (i.e. pool table, board games, toys etc) Limited variety of food. In particular around breakfast. Ridiculous waiting time for food at the pool side mini bar, only available between 4-5pm, with at least 45 mins wait. (Chips, burgers and rolls available). Chips served in between breakfast and lunchtime were cardboard cold. The beaches were ok, but not fantastic. Limited restaurants near the beach.

not the 4 star hotel experience
When i booked this hotel it was rated 4 star on arrival it was clear that it was not , the breakfast food which we only tried once was the poorest quality i have ever come across , i am pretty sure the scrambled eggs were powder , the cereal was stale , everything was the cheapest quality and we decided to eat outside of the hotel from that moment . The bed linen was old and tatty , there was no iron available in the hotel , i had to go to the nearest supermarket and buy one much to the receptionists amusement . There was very little sun loungers available at the pool , so we used the pool by my friends hotel . At the end of the day we decide that there was a clean bed and shower and that we would make do and never return .

Hotel was very quite with a relaxed atmosphere.
Grounds were very nice and very well maintained. The Pool was very nice with lots of sun all day. The hotel could have more to do, games room etc, sports bar and more relaxed seating areas. Possibily make over the out door seating area near the main resturant with comfy seats, this would help give the hotel more of a welcoming feeling.

Good quality clean and freindly hotel
Couldn't believe our luck at getting this hotel in a package deal, expected much worse. Clean room, very freindly staff; they even had a packed dinner for us on arrival, as we were too late for the meal. Hotel and the room spotless, both cleaned daily. Great pool, cleaned every morning, not too busy, no need to reserve a lounger. Pool bar with drinks all day and evening. All the food and drink we could want, but this are Portugese chefs trying to make UK food, so it's not great, only exceptable. We ate out most lunchtimes. A fair distance to beach, but many walked it, we took a cab, they are not that expensive. Pro: Hotel, Staff, Pool, quiet location. Con: Food, distance to beach. Overall, very happy with hotel and would recommend it.

Pool area was outstanding
Went for a four day relaxation vacation, hotel was clean the scenery was beautiful though wow this will be a good break. The beds were not the comfiest I've slept on better beds at premier inn, the only decent food available was the cakes the food was not fantastic and you could find more flavour in a doner kebab shop, I would recommend this hotel to a friend if they got new chefs in to show Portuguese cuisine at its finest. I can't say that I heard dogs barking through the night like in other reviews, but it could of been I was not staying in that part of the hotel. My partner and I took a stroll to the beach about 45 mins but we didn't have directions so there could be a quicker route looked around some shops on the way to, the beach is absolutely stunning and suggest spending a day here there are cafés to have a meal. The pool area was beautiful

The hotel offers good value with all inclusive so if you are looking for a no thrills with food selection and drinks but a fairly decent offer then this could be for you . The staff were very friendly and the hotel had a good feel about it .Relaxed and comfortable. There were some issues with food selection but generally it was ok ,many other guests however would say otherwise. For us it ticked most of our boxes and we would consider returning for a similar price. Ensure you get a room with a pool or garden view ,one side of the hotel overlooks a very dilapidated hotel and car park . I think it was probably a little gem in its time and is now struggling to keep afloat in the current market but all the same the team of staff appear to be trying really hard . Overall if you have a relaxed approach to holidays ,don't get too upset by range of foods and if you have the humour to deal with the entertaining chaos that can ensue from all inclusive snack time by the pool ( just drink more beer while you are waiting !)and don't have expectations of everything being perfect then you are likely to enjoy your stay here .

Hotel was ok, but with a holiday camp feel. Pool area was nice, with plenty of sun beds, but the service at the pool side bar was awful. There was only one member of staff at one point serving loads of guests so we waited over 15 mins. to be served then gave up. The breakfast was poor but other meals were ok. The room was ok, but the beds were very uncomfortable.

nice hotel in lovely grounds
we enjoyed our stay here, close enough to walk into Alvor but far enough out to be really quiet. Usual range at breakfast, all good quality, no complaints there. Lots of fresh fruit ! Comfy room with balcony and great view of the landscaped grounds, pools, ponds and land beyond. Staff were great, couldn't do enough for us including pot of tea at midnight ! Only negative, and its trivial really, but first impression of room was oh dear, shabby.....its the paintwork, its clean but has years of nicotine staining, it really needs a coat of fresh paint Would stay again, it ticked all the boxes for us.

Nice hotel, very comfortable, free Wi-Fi in the hotel reception and bar area (only). Friendly bar staff, nice cocktails, well stocked bar and evening entertainment provided by the hotel. Rooms on our floor were adjoining but each had own bathroom, beds, TV, balcony and separate doors behind the main door off of the corridor. The pool area is very clean and plenty of sunbeds are available, some with umbrellas for those seeking some shade. The hotel gardens are well groomed and ideal for a stroll. Breakfast buffet had plenty of variety to offer. Alvor is the area and the town is approx. 1.2 miles walk from the hotel. I'm a fast walker and it took me 17 mins to walk at a reasonable pace. A cab was under 5 Euro each way. Alvor has a nice cobbled street area that leads down to the harbour containing all the main restaurants, bars and pubs with plenty of variety on offer. We did not have a bad meal during our stay in the evenings and you'd be hard pushed to find somewhere below-par. Food and drinks prices were very reasonable. The Algarve doesn't have much to offer in the way of sightseeing and activities (depending on taste of course), but we hired a car for two days nonetheless to nose about which cost 146 Euro including insurance for a Fiesta. Watch out for the A22 tolls which must be paid 48hrs later at the Alvor post office (Alvor does not have any pay-shops). Perfect for a relaxing week with nice food, drinks, comfort and entertainment. Would visit again.

Perfect couples holiday
Beautiful hotel, with a really good pool area. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. This Hotel is ideal for couples to get away and relax as is situated in a quiet area with just a 15 min walk to the town of Alvor. Alvor is a very quaint and stunning town with a lovely beach and restaurants and lots of exciting things to do! Only bad point is not all rooms have the view shown in the pictures, we unfortunately had a room facing the rear which is opposite another hotels swimming pool which had loud music till late at night. However you can ask reception to get a pool side room if possible.

We had a lovely time here. You're at most a 20 minute walk away from the centre. There are many beaches not too far away. Cabs seemed the best option but not too costly. About 5 euros or so. The buses weren't very easy to understand but we didn't try all that hard to understand them as we didn't need to. The room was perfect for us. Very private, clean and the design was pleasing. Rooms were always tidy. Bar staff at the hotel was brilliant. Food was nice, they had a wide variety. Pools clean and tidy. The grounds are FANTASTIC! very pretty, lots of wildlife but not intrusive at all. Overall-clean, very friendly, pretty, quiet (but had some night life too) and mostly relaxing. Also we found all of the locals to be the friendliest people we have ever met. Nothing was a bother for anyone. Brilliant!

Great hotel in beautiful grounds
A stylish and modern hotel set in beautiful grounds including two large ponds.the majority of staff were very helpful and went out of their way to assist in our needs. The swimming pool was quite big an very peaceful. Overall a great hotel to stay in if u are looking for a tranquil escape in the beautiful agarve sun.

Hotel: Great for couples/families and friends Room: Cleaned every day before 6pm Comfort of the beds are comfortable can’t complain (two twin beds pushed together) There are very tiny insects near the dressing table on the floor so dont put your clothes on the floor. Breakfast: We went BB, Not that bad. But it is the same food every single day (sausage/beans/bacon/scramble eggs/stale bread/buns) and if you’re lucky you may get one different type of food on a one off occasion such as fried potatoes/tomatoes. Not much fruit and also it is all gone off (you can see fungus in the apples and pears). Grapes were okay but have seeds but that didn’t bother us. Snack bar: Nice food, drinks and a huge variety of ice creams and good service.

Too Far From Town
Tho' well appointed the Hotel is just too far from the town to be able to walk in,and it is uphill on the way back,(I'm over 70).However there is a shuttle bus that goes down to the town and the beach. Many of the staff are very approachable and pleasant but the reception staff tend to be aloof. The gardens approx.ten acres, and swimming pools are a joy and there are more than enough sun beds to go round(Sept).There is entertainment in the bar several nights a week,but the bar area is relatively small and and this tends to stifle conversation. All food is buffet style and tho' plenty of it, it does tend to be repetitive.

This is a nice hotel in lovely grounds and a very quiet location. It is difficult to find if you ignore the road signs ;-). Room service was very good, pool excellent. However, the pool side bar is the only place to get food during the day and they only sell toasted sandwiches or burgers + chips. The main downer is that the waiter (in the poolside bar) has to go and collect the food from the kitchens which then means a wait of some 5 mins before the next person is served. There was only one barman working at any one time so queues did develop. Same for the evening, is poolside bar closes at around 6:30 and the cocktail bar then opens again with one barman. If he gets an order for cocktails be prepared to wait up to 15mins to get your order in. Btw, the same barman has to clear the tables. So waiting could become a frustrating experience. The hotel is about a 15 min walk From Alvor town centre (even less if/when the shuttle bus is working). Not a great deal of entertainment with a couple of singers three times a week in the cocktail bar. You'd need a car to get out and about and it's worth it as this is a very quiet hotel.

Hotel was fineand whilst the area surrounding the hotwl is in need of upgrading the Hotel was well maintained although not the easiest to locate. As it was Easter and out of season the hotel was far from busy, but has a large pool and surrounding grounds which appear more than adequate for the number of rooms. Well worth making the journey to the old port at Alvor for an evening meal

Hotel de 4 estrelas que na prática devia ser de 3. Pouca variedade de comida, pequeno almoço muito fraco, assistência aos clientes razoável e gentileza e simpatia dos empregados muito fraca. Estado geral do hotel muito degrado, ginásio praticamente inútil tendo em conta que de 6 aparelhos disponíveis apenas 2 trabalhavam, piscina interior degrada, banho turco avariado, enfim valeu apenas pelo preço uma vez que incluía todas as refeições e bebidas. Animação completamente inexistente

Maten var god men ikke noe wow. Litt mye maur på badet. Alvor lå 20min. gangtid fra hotellet koselige gater med butikker og resturanger.

No es un hotel de 4 estrellas ni muchísimo menos
El entorno agradable, muy buen trato del personal del hotel. La limpieza casi inexistente, no se preocupan lo más mínimo por tener preparadas las habitaciones y los cuartos de baño limpios. En cuanto al buffet poco variado, aunque buena cocina. No hay jacuzzi, aunque en la página web hay incluso fotografías, y la sauna ni si quiera la tienen encendida, y al preguntar al personal del hotel, nos indicaban que para el día siguiente. Estancia agradable, salvo por la limpieza.
