I like this location. Easy access to Icon Siam, Asiatique, etc. The 30 minute interval ferry takes you to the train station which gives you legs to a lot else. (I find that when arriving, traffic into Bangkok is always bad, and it is much easier to take the train in an transfer to the hotel ferry. If packibg light, much better than sitting in a taxi for 3 hours on a Friday afternoon.) Charoen Krung Road and side streets have a lot to offer. I often stroll between. Chinatown and the hotel. The hotel facilities itself have not changed much over the years, but overall still satisfactory. The pool is great, overlooking the Chao Phraya River. I would much rather be at the Riverside than inland. Staff quite courteous. The breakfast buffet was something I looked forward to every morning. Convenience store one minute walk away. Overall, I like the variety and balance of staying in this area over an extended time.
