El hotel está situado un una buena ubicación la habitación que me tocó primero no tenía toallas y tuve que bajar por una por que el teléfono no servía se supone que te dan una botella de agua por habitación la mía no la tuve y tuve que bajar a pedirla, el cuarto toda la noche y el día tenía ruidos como de motor que no dejan dormir me generó una migraña y al segundo día bajé a pedirles el cambio de habitación y el de recepción era una persona no muy gentil no me hicieron el cambio y estuve por 4 días ahí después la botella de agua la querían cobrar $1.50 euros y era una botella pequeña según dijo el de recepción que es solo una mini botella la que ellos regalan el primer día cuando en otros hoteles ofrecen agua y café en la habitación de cortesía les siguieron que si van no pidan habitaciones interiores el restaurante está bien y la comida también el bar también está agradable

Noise
The noise was constant. The super thin walls did not help as you could hear all the other guests and noises from the loading area. Why would you send repair men to do work at 8am on a Saturday morning inside the hotel? In the end, this was on me as many reviewers i saw later mention the noise.

The review was dirty, no fridge and when we took the shower all the water spelled on the floor of washroom. Not recommended.

The initial staff was nice and gave me a suggestion while I waited for my room to be ready when I got back I was put in a room that didn’t have the AC going and it took hours for it to cool it down at all. I don’t understand why the AC wouldn’t be on for a room to be assigned in advance. The bed was like laying in an oven. Sad. I normally don’t write anything good or bad but I couldn’t sleep well. To me that is the primary purpose of a hotel. Comfortable to sleep. Live and learn.

Hotel Market
The Market Hotel is a comfortable place to stay and is located in a lovely neighborhood in the Sants-Montjuic district. There are many cafes, shops, and restaurants within a short walking distance, and public transportation is readily accessible. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are not soundproof and I was at times disturbed by loud chatter and music from people in adjacent rooms. Most of the time, though, the room was quiet and I enjoyed sitting on the balcony outside and reading books. The historic Mercat de Sant Antoni, a large building containing many clothing and food shops, is only half a block away.

Las fotos están sobre calificadas. Me preguntaba por qué los otros reviews son tan contradicctorios pero creo que resolví el misterio: ...y es que hay una sección del hotel que está remodelada. Cuando llegué me metieron en una habitación lúgubre , claustrofóbica pintada de negro, sí de negro!.a la cual se accedía por un corredor con un olor bastante desagradable (que persistió en la habitación), en pleno verano de 35 grados en Barcelona y el aire no funcionaba. esperé apenas 25 minutos y siendo que la habitación era mínima y el aparato de aire acondicionado se veía grande baje, y solicite el cambio de habitación. El chico senegalés revisó y dubitatiba aunque amablemente, terminó cambiandome hacia otro sector del hotel , la cual al menos pude permanecer por el resto de mi estancia (3 noches) . ... el sector es bastante agradable , con muchos cafes pequeños y agradables. No, no volveré allá

The front desk staff was very professional helpful and courteous. The time we stayed in the summer was very hot mid 90’s F. However the air unit above our entry door barely put out a breeze let alone cool air. Our room never got below 80 and we couldn’t sleep( my wife finally went to our girls room right below o. The 3rd floor which had a temporary cooling u it that brought the temperature down. The location is right by a metro station and seems like a safe neighborhood.there a restaurant on the premises that is very nice and we had breakfast (10 euros per person) with hot and cold items they also serve lunch and dinner most nights. The facility is an older building as are most Barcelona a and I believe also shares with apartments. We took the recommended shuttle from airport to hotel which was $88 however we just got a taxi for return and it was only $28 and only $13 to cruise terminal.

There was a cockroach in our first room. In the second room the sink drain was stuck shut and there was nothing they could do to fix it. No centralized AC either - overall feels very dirty.

I would not stay at this property again! My initial rooms air conditioner was not working and the room was rather hot. I let it run for 2 hours and it didnt cool at all. After contacting the front desk, they sent someone up and basically turned the unit off and then on again. Which as I suspected did nothing. I suggested being moved to another room and was told that the hotel was sold out. Hmmmm I gave it 30 minutes and it was not cooling so I went down to the front desk to again request a room change. As I arrived at the front desk another guest was complaining about their rooms A/C not working. This is an ongoing problem with old A/C units.(read previous reviews) When I suggested being moved to another room I was told again by another person that the hotel was sold out and it was not possible. So I immediately checked Expedia and wouldn't you know it showed rooms available! They then changed my room, to yet another room with ineffective A/C.. I went back down to the front desk again and they eventually moved me to a suite. The suites A/C unit was new and of course worked.. I give credit to the front desk staff as I believe they have to deal with this often and they eventually, after much persuading, provided me with a room with working A/C. But it took me exposing their lie about no rooms available and threatening to get a refund and move to another hotel. The suites are nice, the staff is okay, and the hotel can use some major updates, specifically the A/C units.

Our room was not noisy. Location was very good as I could easily walk to the old university building, the magic fountains, Cataluña plaza and most touristy areas. The room could use a desk. We also had some difficulties with the lights going out but we found a solution. Despite these observations, I would stay here again. The price per night was reasonable.
