We always stay at the Clayton when visiting Belfast, but I have to say this trip was disappointing.
Firstly the bar, not only have they hiked the prices up, it was comfortably the most expensive bar we visit all weekend.
Secondly the pool closure… between our booking and our arrival the pool had closed down.. this was not communicated to us and we even arrived at the spa, with our young daughter, to find it all closed up.
Reception staff, we dealt with 2, one was very helpful, the other quite the opposite.
Cleanliness, our room wasn’t cleaned properly on our first night (bathroom bins full on nappies (in sacks) not emptied and breakfast plates left). Room service glasses and plates left in to corridors for half the following day (not great when travelling with a toddler).
All in all, the hotel has gone downhill since our last visit and we’ll most likely stay else where when next in town.
