In a nutshell my room was full of bedbugs and some other pretty insects. When I first called the receptionist, she behaved like it was normal (!): "yeah, there are in every room". They sent someone only after a couple of hours to try and sort things out. I personally found the whole thing unbelievable, a bit disgusting and somehow surreal to say the least. This is supposed to be "a grand hotel".

I didn’t consider this a 4 star property. While the staff was pleasant, room was clean and it was in a historic building with many Terme baths. The baths were open to the general public and were very busy. The restaurant offered less than expected for a 4 star hotel.

More information on spa in various languages would be a great asset and up selling feature. We could not understand what the various options were. Also, better pricing for spa services for guests would be great. We landed up not using any and were disappointed.

Pros: Beautiful ambience.

Cons: Better food! A grand hotel, yet found food quality poor.

Location: Location was great for visiting family and doing research on family history.
