Cant fault the hotel at all. The surrounding area is not so good and trying to park is difficult. A lot of the car parks are closed.

Came at 4pm and one of our room not ready although we had check-in online and keys supposed to be ready at 3pm. The front office said the check in is ‘from’ 3pm and ‘not’ at 3pm. That’s the most stupid excuse I ever heard from such a 4-star hotel! After made a complaint then they reassigned another room immediately. When I entered the room, the towel only prepared for 1 person in both of our rooms and we booked 1 double room and 1 triple room so total for 5 person. No amenities in the room, phone is broken. Not such 4 star quality. Breakfast was fantastic though. That’s the only one we like in this hotel. Everything else are overrated. Staff in front office needs more training for hospitality. They only handed us 1 keycard for every room and that’s it. No explanation or guidance of where to go etc. Not even smiling at us. Won’t be back again.

One of the best hotels in Birmingham, it’s always clean and feels comfortable. The front desk team are all excellent whatever time of day and are always on hand to help.

Great base for exploring Birmingham
Chose the Clayton for its location very easy walk into the centre, 3 minutes to Moor Street for the train to Stratford,8 minutes to New Street. It did not disappoint ; being on the edge of the city centre was a bonus with the open outlook from the bedroom window. Very comfortable accommodation, super shower,and great breakfast.

very nosiy 330am and clearly staff did not engage with the noise happening because it went on for 1/2hours Breakfeast was cold after goin down at 930am was not worth the price car parking was nightmare and 16pound and hotel scan my car park ticket to knock some money off and it did not happen ticket must of not worked from the hotel

The Hotel was really nice, well located and helpful friendly staff. Check in was quick. The room was a good size with nice decor and was quiet. The breakfast buffet was very good with a great selection of good food and again staff were very good. We will definitely stay next time we are in Brum.

Not as nice as it seems.
This should be a lovely hotel. Here's what I found... I stayed there while on business. I arrived at around 8:30pm after a long day. I immediately ate in the restaurant/bar, which was good. Now, the room was "grubby", with stains on the carpet and curtains. The phone in the room did not work and when I picked it up to see if it was plugged in, it was all sticky underneath. There was no WiFi, and as the phone didn't work, I had to run down to reception several times. The staff were pleasant but had no clue about the WiFi, so I couldn't catch up on emails. The bathroom was well appointed, however, the door is cheap laminate and all rotted at the bottom from steam or water from the shower. The bed was clean and comfortable. The following morning I had a "rubbery" English breakfast. The waiter then brought me the bill, although I had paid for breakfast. While it was passable, I would not stay here again.

There is nothing to fault. The staff couldn’t do enough for us. We ate in the restaurant twice and not one person in our party of 6 had any complaints. The breakfast was equally as good xx

While the property is nicely located in Birmingham City center my four day experience was marred by a resevation manager on the last day. I extended my three-day stay by an additional day and requested to keep the same room. On the third day I advised the front desk paid via expedia for the additional day who confirmed everything was set. We were advised to come to the front desk at 11:00 am the following day to rekey the door. We did as advised. Later that afternoon of our 4th day, around 4 pm we assume she was the front desk manager came to our room and asked when were we checking out of the room in quite a rude manner. We advised we had extended our stay and paid for it the prior day. We were baffled and concerned about her approach. In addition we had requested the room be cleaned and had just returned only to find the bed sheets were pulled but dirty tea cups and the bathroom was not cleaned. She said she needed to check our reservations again and will request house keeping to return. Of course you can imagine how upsetting this was. We returned to the front desk with our proof of booking. She said O yes I can see it now and requsted to rekey our keys. We told her we were already at the desk at 11 am and that should not be necessary, however she needed to. It only proved she had disarmed our keys and entry to the room. This is extremely poor. This employee is not suited for the hospitality business. We would like a refund for the poor service experienced.
