A hidden gem!
A lovely hotel in a beautiful Georgian Town. The hotel was convenient for our travels & so glad we came! The highlight was breakfast & dinner. Staff were professional & friendly - &the bar/head waiter at dinner was absolutely fabulous 👏👏👏👏👏

This property is just lovely. The room was elegant, the view from our room was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was superb! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay! Wish we could have stayed longer.

Outstanding food
Friendly and efficient staff, nice ambience and one of the best hotel meals I have ever experienced (and I have experienced hundreds). The terrine and then hake to follow were exceptional and my wife had a steak which she described as 'best ever'. We will definitely return.

Clean and spacious rooms, bar food good
Clean spacious room. Bathroom a bit cold. We stayed at the front of the hotel and there was a bit of on-street noise but it didn't go on too late. We ate in the bar in the evening and the food was very good.

Very nice boutique hotel
Lovely hotel and room. Staff extremely friendly. Good bar and restaurant. The only downsides were the wait and mox up at breakfast and the shower stopped working in the morning.

Amazing hotel off the beaten track
Great location and on the bus route from Kilkenny. Amazing welcoming log fire in reception and in the bar. Tasty chowder for lunch

Overall a wonderful stay. Had an excellent dinner and breakfast. Only issue was that the Wifi was down during the trip, forcing my partner and I to actually talk to each other rather than playing on our phones.

This hotel is a hidden gem
Staff were great, very professional friendly and courteous. Room was spotlessly clean and really comfortable. Food in the bar was very high quality, well price with restaurant level presentation. The hotel generally was welcoming and comfortable. Couldn't recommend this place more.

A little gem in Co. Carlow.
We had a wonderful stay in The Step House Hotel and hope to return. The hotel was spotlessly clean and had a lovely ambience. The day we arrived it was raining and cool but there was a welcoming fire burning in the reception area. The decor was amazing. Our room was a good size, the bed really comfortable and the bathroom was spotless, beautifully decorated with nice soft towels. We'll definitely go back!

Luxurious small typical Irish hotel
The hotel, bar, restaurant and breakfast were all excellent. The only negative experience we had was that we had a room (102) close to the reception and bar. After midnight we heard a lot of people talking very loud (I guess after the bar closed). Sadly the staff did not tell them to keep their voices down. It continued for at least half an hour and kept us awake. Otherwise our stay would have been perfect.
