Lovely team
The Ivy is brilliantly located in Castlebar town. The team are exceptionally helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend the Ivy for a great value stay in Castlebar.

Simply The Best.

Warm welcoming and a very comfy stay
We were staying to visit family and the hotel was a perfect location. Added to that the staff were all super helpful and made our stay so comfortable. Would highly recommend staying here if you are in Castlebar.

The receptionist was very friendly and helpful, the room was fine but you could hear very clearly if someone was having a shower/running a tap/flushing the toilet as there was a high pitched screeching sound. Cleaners very keen to get inside the room from about 10am even though checkout was midday - they were banging the door with the vacuum cleaner which was left right outside and slamming doors/talking loudly in the corridor.

Towering disappointment.
The outside of the building looked rundown. We had to go to the bar for reception staff to check us in. The room was musty smelling as if it had not been aired for quite awhile. The bar food in the evening was ok. The seating left quite a lot to be desired as the seat covers were ripped and some of the tables near us were not cleaned down after use. The breakfast the following morning was very disappointing as mine arrived to the table 5 minutes before my wife got hers. When I brought this to the attention of the management I was told that the staff were all very young. This is in my opinion is not good enough.

Great staff
Excellent staff at all points during our stay. Our only minor complaint is that there was an exit door near our room and at about 3:30 am someone slammed that door waking everyone.

Ticks the right boxes
While the hotel is slightly outdated they have put alot of investment into modernising the bedrooms. No problem with service and food and drink were good also. Good location in the town and they have priced fairly.

Great spot in Castlebar.
Great super clean place but the restaurant is closed, but there are a ton within walking distance. Rooms and bathrooms are very nice and recently refurbished. There is a large pub/bar attached that gets packed on weekends but we were there during the week and it was very quiet.
