Loved the location. Hotel was lovely. Downside, our room was location next to some fans or air con units and they made a continuous noise all night which was difficult if your used to a quiet space when you go to sleep. If we’d been on the other side of the hotel away from the noise it would have been a 5* break.

A good quality hotel in central Cheltenham. The hotel is smart; well maintained; and has very efficient check in staff. All in all very good, although i woukd have expected the tea/coffee to have been automatically been topped up when the room was serviced.

Most of the staff are friendly, and the room service is good. However, the facilities in the room need improvement. The bedside reading lamp is broken, and the bedside lamps can only be switched on through the button by the bulb, which is a bit dangerous for children. Additionally, the switch on the bedboard does not work. The carpet needs cleaning. Also, the hotel is very close to the building opposite; from the window, I can see it very clearly, so I have to keep the curtains closed all the time while staying there. Lastly, the pillows need cleaning, as there are feathers coming out of them

Our stay started uncomfortably but ended very well. Staff were responsive to our difficulty with an over heated room and air conditioning not working. Facilities were good and we came away really refreshed.

Nice and historic property, room was way too warm and aircon didn’t work (plus really shouldn’t be needed in the middle of January!). Lovely, but pricey, food in the Victoria restaurant.

I thought the staff were very good and very helpful particularly Jack on Reception and the lovely oriental cleaner on the 3rd floor who took time to ask us how our breakfast was and did we need help with our bags such a kind man .we enjoyed breakfast but they did seem under pressure .The property is tired not our room which was nice but the carpets could do with a clean on the corridors

Staff polite & very helpful, there were a couple of stains on the top of the duvet cover. Too hot in the room so did keep window open.

Excellent Hotel
Our fourth visit to this charming hotel over twenty years, it doesn’t change, the history and grandeur is amazing. Quite dated but all part of the tapestry! Fantastic situation for everything, food, shops, theatre and the history of Cheltenham. We will definitely return.
