A great place to stay in Bantry
Thérèse was a great hostess and a wonderful cook. Gorgeous breakfasts of eggs salmon, fresh fruit, good coffee and yummy brown bread some of which I came away with.

Welcoming and friendly. Compliant with Covid regulations. Accommodating when we needed a slightly earlier breakfast. Pleasant, comfortable and clean. Lovely breakast with choices. Would stay there again if visiting Bantry again.

Such great care taken to make the visitors feel at home, even in difficult times. The small touch of a cup of tea on arrival (not available in hotel we stayed in) was most welcome.

Owner Terese was very welcoming and friendly, and provided us with a lovely breakfast. Handy location, and we were able to walk to town for dinner. Our room was cramped and was the one in the house without an en suite bathroom.

A great bed and breakfast stay. We received a very warm and friendly welcome on arrival by Sean and Pam and the hospitality continued throughout our stay. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending a stay here to any of my friends or family.

Exceptionally clean establishment with lovely and friendly hosts. Superb food in a quiet beautiful location by the Wild Atlantic Way. Easy access up to Killarney National Park and the Ring of Kerry. Must see areas of natural beauty and nice people.

Had a lovely triple room downstairs which was large & spotless & very comfy beds. Great shower & plenty of towels & bathroom products. Breakfast was amazing & the home made bread was divine. I also had plunger coffee & homemade lemon drizzle cake on arrival. Really lovely hosts.

Very pleasant stay.
We had a very pleasant stay. Hosts Therese and Sean were very helpful and T’s breakfasts excellent. Best porridge I’ve had for ages. My only comment, which I did mention to Therese, was that our room was just a bit too snug to be a double and needed a blind to screen you from the front road. Thinner people than me probably wouldn’t mind!

Warm & Helpful Host, Beautiful Home
My mom and I had a wonderful stay at Doire Liath Bed & Breakfast during our recent visit to Bantry, County Cork, Ireland! The home is beautifully decorated and comfortable and conveniently located just 5 minutes away by car or 10 minutes away on foot from the center of Bantry. We had the large room at the back of the house, with one twin and one double bed. This was a very quiet and comfortable room. Rooms at the front will be less quiet, as they are closer to the main road. Breakfast was wonderful, with many options from which to choose, including a selection of cold cereals, fresh fruit and yogurt, as well as eggs, sausages, bacon, etc. Therese, the host, is warm, friendly and extremely helpful. Regrettably, I was sick for the first half of our stay there, and Therese was very compassionate, level-headed and helpful. She called the nearby clinic for us when I needed to see the doctor. Later, when I needed a different prescription, she called the clinic again and even went to the pharmacy to pick it up! She went above and beyond and we were very grateful to have such a caring host. When you visit Bantry, be sure to book accommodation at this pleasant B&B - you will love it! I am including a photo of the lovely view from the B&B, looking southeast. Nancy & Elly, Colorado

Cosy and welcoming!
Sean and Theresa were so warm and welcoming and made our stay really pleasant. So glad that we decided to stay here, it was very cosy and felt like we experienced the true Irish hospitality. Greated with tea coffee and cake, delicious breakfast every morning with homemade soda bread and black pudding. Definitely recommend a stay here.

Very welcoming and nice host, good breakfast, cosy room (our favorite in Ireland out of 3 B&Bs we stayed in). Little issue with water pressure on the second floor but that was really minor and didn't bother us since all the rest was perfect. Walking distance to downtown and pier. Kids loved it as they got to meet the house dogs in the backyard. Pity we booked only one night.

The family is so nice, when we arrived there was a welcoming tea, took outside with the sun, and cakes, was exactly what we needed after 80km of biking. The bed are so comfy, very clean. Inside the room, a book with some tips for the city and around. We found our place for eating, was very nice, and we went to the dessert, it is called The Snug. The breakfast is giant, and you can have whatever you want. It was just perfect.

On arrival at the B&B we were greeted by a confused lady who was not expecting our arrival. Having book online at noon that day, we were very disappointed that our accommodation was not ready for us. We were left with no alternative but to get our money back (which had been paid at time of booking) and arrange alternative accommodation. After a long drive with 2 kids in the car this was a hugely disappointing and unprofessional experience. Hopefully, this doesn't happen too often.

Doire Liath B&B: a hidden jewel in Bantry's crown
I stayed in Doire Liath (Grey Oak) B&B with my husband and two teenage children. We loved everything about it: our bedroom was charming (as was the rest of the house). We received a warm welcome, initially from Amy (the proprietors' young helper) and then, the following morning, from Therese and Sean themselves. The breakfast was delicious: my husband said it was the best breakfast he'd ever had in a B&B! We would definitely recommend it to relatives/friends and go back there ourselves - indeed, we are looking forward to our next visit!

The owner was friendly and accommodating, the room clean and comfortable and the BandB was an easy walk to the town center. My room though did not have its own bathroom attached to it--I had to go across a common hallway. Not a big deal, but it was surprising to me.

Had a great stay in this homely and comfortable b&b in Bantry. Ideally located a short stoll to restaurants and pubs, it was easy to navigate on foot or by car if desired (plenty parking at b&b). The hostess Linda was fabulous and catered to our every need, including tea and cake on arrival, with a friendly welcome. Breakfast was great choice and even better taste. Would stay again when back in Bantry.

We spent one night there. The host is realy welcoming and everything went fine. The room although was a little small, especially the bathroom but very clean. The breakfast was faboulus and a 10 minute walk away you find various restaurants and a realy nice pub. I can highly recommend this B&B. Thank you for all!
