I cannot sing enough praises about Haddington House! It is the loveliest hotel that I have ever stayed in! I have stayed in 4 and 5 star resorts and Haddington House does not have all of those resort amenities like a water park, a fitness center, or a casino. BUT it is a beautifully and uniquely designed hotel with a very fascinating history. The entire hotel is immaculate and it is truly a work of art. It’s a small boutique hotel which provides an intimate, quiet experience. It’s across from Dun Laoghaire Harbor so it is very safe, very quiet, and very peaceful.
The hotel has stunning views. There is a wonderful restaurant, Oliveto, inside the hotel and it is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast is made to order and it was absolutely delicious and you get to stare out at lovely Dun Laoghaire harbor and the sea while enjoying a cup of tea.
The hotel was an easy 5-7 minute walk from the shops and cafes in Dun Laoghaire and Dun Laoghaire train station. There is also a bus stop close by. You can easily get to Dublin city center in 20-25 minutes on the DART train.
Emma and the staff at Haddington House are absolutely wonderful. They are very warm and kind and they made my stay so special and comfortable. My stay at Haddington House was one of the highlights of my 4 week long trip around Ireland and the UK.
I really hope to visit Dublin again in the future and Haddington House is my first choice for any future stays in Dublin.
