Great stay! Be aware that one block from this hotel is where all the migrants are. Just be careful anywhere you go in the city. We had a wonderful time and the Westin is a very convenient hotel to stay in if you are seeing Broadway shows.

The work on the escalator from the entrance to the lobby, resulting in the down escalator being out of service, was a bit of an annoyance and inconvenience, but overall, it was a nice 3 night stay.

This was my wife's first trip to NYC. We chose this hotel for its proximity to Times Square. When we arrived, we saw that there was pretty significant remodeling going on, with the down escalator from the lobby shut down during our Friday-Sunday stay. This was a mild inconvenience, but I would have appreciated some communication of this before our stay. As we checked in, the clerk informed us that the was a $35 "resort fee" that was going to be added on each day to our room which we could use at the hotel, like for the restaurant. We came to learn that a continental breakfast would cost $29 per person, so we would still have to spend about $30 out of pocket for a bagel and a banana. Our room was not bad, as we had a corner room with a king size bed. We were very surprised to see that the refrigerator was locked and there was no way to heat food, as use of the fridge was an extra charge, as was use of a microwave. The room had a few pieces of paper on the floor in the closet from the previous occupant, but was otherwise in good shape. The hotel staff were very nice. Overall, the location was great, but for the price and the unexpected "resort fee" and being nickeled and dimed for what are in today's world pretty standard amenities, we will not choose to stay there on future trips.
