Visited w our LARGE family and stayed for a wedding that was local in the area. Had a wonderful stay, had most of the family (even those not staying in the house with us) out for grilling and hanging in the yard - mostly an impromptu family reunion that was awesome!

This house has character. There was more than enough space for our family. Rocking chairs at the porch, a picnic table, and fire pit at the back complete the outdoors. The environment is quiet, and the New River trail is conveniently nearby.

We loved the house and all the originality and history of it. It was very roomy and private. I do wish the grass had been cut and I had received instructions about the property when leaving. Overall it was a great experience and everyone loved staying there!

Property was very nice, Clean, very quiet and had plenty of room. Sitting on the front porch swing in the morning and evening was very relaxing. We seen deer, wild turkeys a couple of ground hogs and the farm also had several horses. The owners were nice and very helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay. This old farmhouse had such charm but also was very clean. The owner referred us to a great new restaurant in Galax called the Fiddler’s restaurant. It was great. If you want a the peace and quiet of the country in an authentic farmhouse, you won’t want to miss this one.

Outstanding location and wonderful old farm property! The New River Bike trail was just down the road. Galax just a few minutes away. There is a pasture with horses and we saw deer and turkeys. House is a modernized old farmhouse and was rustic and comfortable!

If you want the real experience of staying in a farmhouse, this is for you. Old Fiddler’s Farm is the real deal. I walked in and said, “This is my grandmother’s house!” It is rustic, but It’s fully electric with two full bathrooms to accommodate a family or friends traveling together. It was easy ti find and close enough to Gaylax to find a Bluegrass Band at the local brewery. It was perfect for us!

We arrived late but Stephen called to let us know that he had everything ready for our visit. Even though he had a family situation he made sure that we were his top priority. The farmhouse reminded me of staying with my great grandmama back in the family farm which was not far from where we stayed. My nieces even though adults loved feeding the horses every morning and the deer outside the kitchen window every morning made all of our days. Thanks for a wonderful trip and we hope to make this a family tradition. He even called on our way home to make sure we had arrived home safely. Top notch

If you truly want a break from all the stress that life can bring, this is your place!!! Our 3 children, (ages 11, 9, 6) never once asked to watch TV or play video games. They didn't need help finding fun ways to spend their time. As long as there was daylight, they wanted to be outside! We were all obsessed with the sweet horses! The opportunity to ride around the property was also a ton of fun for us all. While the house itself is obviously very old, it was comfortable and offered everything we needed. Fire pit, outdoor exploring, minutes from a New River trail head, not far from restaurants and stores. Stevie was the best host! He stopped by on our check-in day to introduce himself, gave great ideas of things to do in the area, and was very responsive anytime we had a question. This vacation will be hard to beat! I have no doubt our children will remember and talk about it for a very long time.

My friends, pups and I had a great time at this VRBO. It was perfectly situated to get to the new river trail, has a semi fenced in yard that the puppies loved and the house worked perfectly for a friend's weekend in the mountains. Definitely rustic vibes but very cute! Kitchen was well appointed with pans, and the water pressure in the shower was also great.

Nice old fashion farmhouse with the added bonus of several horses that show up in the morning! My wife is basically a little kid when it comes to animals so she was happy and it made the trip! Don’t forget to bring some carrots!

Don't expect anything fancy, this is a true farm house with enough space for 2 families. You will see and feel the history in thus place. It has everything you need to spend a relaxing time...that's if you don't have small children lol Just a few minutes away from major stores and downtown shops and like 5 minutes away from nice trails where you can walk or bike. It is pet friendly, my 🐶 loved it there, he spent a good amount of time outdoors...poor thing is still recovering from all the exercise. I suggest taking apples and carrots if you want to feed the horses, they visited every morning and evening, huge hit with the kiddos. Overall it is a great place to stay, got to meet the owner and his mom and they were both very nice and attentive. You'll have a great time here!

We enjoyed our stay. The website description was not totally accurate as to # bathrooms. There is really only one ‘full’ bathroom, another with shower and toilet and 3rd is sink and toilet. But the owner is working to get to 3 full baths, and he was very responsive to suggestions. So, it will only get even better, and I would stay there again in the future.

The location was some of the most beautiful mountain scenery and a welcome break from the high temperatures we have been experiencing lately. The Farmhouse was very roomy and accommodating beyond our needs. The decor was so reminiscent of days gone by and brought back many memories...Steven, our host was so welcoming, kind and was one the most gracious hosts I have encountered in sharing his home for visitors. The people in Galax were very friendly as well.

We loved our stay. We've had a lot of things going on over the past 2 years with health and work, etc. and the peace and quiet was just what we needed. The rescue horses were therapeutic and we enjoyed their evening visits. My only suggestion would be step stools for the higher beds.

This property is wonderful! Close to Galax for restaurants and other activities yet completely away from everything. Very peaceful environment with lots of interaction with nature. Steven is a great host! We will definitely be back!!
