This property was affordable, clean, easy to access the city, and last but not least the staff were excellent. I needed assistance to get my CPAP machine connected, and the gal working just down from our room took the time to stop what she was doing to assist. Absolutely so thankful for her. Other staff were always helpful and friendly as well. Highly recommended!
Good food, warm friendly staff who although young and inexperienced were helpful. Used the pool and sauna. Food was lovely in bar and at breakfast. Bedroom well appointed
Check in was 16:00. Ok, busy period and wasn’t a big deal but it could only get worse. Tried to get a menu from the Bistro but 4/5 young bar tenders have no intention of serving you, head down to avoid eye contact. Bar manager or supervisor was busy and felt sorry for him, running around trying to cater guests and babysit his fellow employees at the same time. Got a family room and unfortunately it was above the ball room so got to listen to the DJ downstairs from our room. We were going to attend breakfast the next morning but when the bar tender says she cant make coffee with an extra shot, we decided to venture elsewhere. While the Clayton isn’t entirely at fault and society has a major problem going forward with kids not having the initiative, you would seriously question the integrity of the 4 star system.
On a plus note, food from the Bistro was really good and receptionists were very pro active.
Bathroom only offered shampoo & body wash in dispenser but regrettably the body & shampoo was put at the sink & hand wash was in the bath. I called down for shampoo/conditioner & was advised that shampoo was sent up in a massive bottle. Explained the situation but housekeeping lady could not do anything once she understood except report to manager. Hair dryer stopped working, it did restart after 10minutes. There was a wire coming out of the mattress which was very dangerous. Dinner & breakfast were both good. Car parking was fine.
Shower went from boiling to freezing every few seconds,no toiletries ,meal was minimum, burger and chips ,no salad ,coleslaw, presentation was poor, breakfast area for self service was small, staff were excelkent ,disappointed as we stayed here before and never had a complaint

Disliked: Room comfort
Information and correct staff training
3 staff couldnt tell me the correct time for the lesuire facilty on the sunday morning, i got told three different opening times, which hampered my schedule with my kids who id travelled long distance to visit, the information leaflet should be updated with correct times and all staff properly trained with correct information instead of guessing and giving the incorrect information out to patrons, who might i add paid alot of hard earned money for a room.
We had a lovely two night stay in the family room. Spacious room and bathroom. We really loved the food in the bar and ate there both nights. The pool was perfect and the sauna and steam room were an extra bonus
Very ordinary hotel....had to waitbfor seats for breakfast, couldnt see the tv in the bar from allmost everywhere in the bar except a few seats, a group of children allowed to run riot for hrs before anyone did anything...
The hotel offers easy access to Galway- a short bus ride or you can drive. We took the bus and it made exploring the city easy. The hotel room was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Nice hotel with gym and good breakfast buffet. Got the bus to town no problem first day, but second day it didn’t come and we gave up after 45 minutes and took a cab. Next time I would try to be a bit closer to town centre.
This is a bice enough hotel, U paid 299 Euro for 2 nights. The hotel was refurbishing one of its bars which meant no dinner reservations available until o in tje restaurant and a very small amount of available seating in the open bar.
The room itself was very nice, spacious, clean and well presented. The shower looked heavily scaled though and the flow was slow. Warm enough but not a great shower.
