Two Days in the Fog
In Ireland in mid-June, a hotel on the beach isn’t really a good selling point. It was super windy & very chilly. We were a €15 taxi drive (1-way) from town, making eating there pretty expensive. The young woman who checked us in (light red hair & who didn’t use “lovely” as every other word) was wonderful and very helpful! She made dinner reservations for us, as well as contacting our tour bus for the next day and arranged for them to pick us up at the hotel). The breakfast each morning was OK- nothing special. We had to literally grab a waiter to bring us coffee. My main complaint was that we needed to open windows at night to cool the room down- which was very unpleasant, given that our room overlooked the fun park (rides and kids screaming until after 10:00 P.M.). So, if you book a room, try to avoid the east wing and book in August to enjoy the beach!
