The hotel is lovely and the staff who greeted us were kind and accommodating. However, since we were the only guests for breakfast, she asked if it would be okay to take late checkout and skip breakfast. We agreed, but only because we felt embarrassed to say no. We book all our stays based entirely on breakfast being included in the room rate, and this room was more than twice the price of others in the area. We travel a lot, and review a lot of properties. Our regular rating system allots two out of five stars for a hotel’s breakfast, so as good as the property may be it can never get more than 3 stars without breakfast. Had we known there would be no breakfast, we would have booked a less expensive property and saved ourselves $200 US dollars. I’m sure it would have been at least 4 stars under different circumstances.

This is a very well maintained property with lots of conveniences, including location, parking and dining. The staff is very helpful and the restaurant is outstanding. The room was very comfortable and spacious. We would definitely return.

Wonderful property!! Lobby and restaurant are beautifully renovated. Rooms are partly updated, bathroom was totally new/ I love that they did not gut old rooms when renovating as it kept a lot of the vintage charm. Wide marble staircase with old wooden and wrought iron banisters was beautiful. The restaurant in the hotel offers a fantastic menu and both the food and the staff are wonderful. Make a reservation if the island is busy!
