I booked this room last minute. The room was clean and spacious. But the older gentleman at the front desk made the review a 5 star. He was so friendly and polite. I would recommend this hotel.

Beautiful coffee shop on site. Only a 25 min walk to town. Free parking if you do have a car. Lovely hotel.

Brendan on front desk is a star. Every hotel should have a Brendan. I dropped key on the way to reception and left hotel. Then few hours later noticed that I had not got key .panic and searched everywhere no key. Brendan had got key found on hotel floor and emailed me. Where else would you get that. Thank you .Our hotel was very clean and staff v friendly Felt like i was staying with friends Would give 10 out 5 if i could. Beautiful setting

Highly Recommend - Lovely stafd
We had to cancel our other accommodation at late notice due to a problem with the other hotel and we are so glad we did as this meant that we found this gem. The hotel was lovely. Quiet and clean and all the staff were great - especially Brendan on reception who couldn’t have been nicer. Would definitely recommend and we would definitely stay again

The hotel is lovely and well maintained. The only thing was that it could have been more clearly marked that there is no elevator.

Great hotel
A very nice hotel, very cozy, staff is super nice and welcoming. They have a nice bar with drink and food. Rooms are clean, spacious and cozy. Beds are comfy. It’s about a 20 min walk into Kilkenny city center about a mile. If you don’t mind walking or have a car (about 5 mins into town by car) it’s a great place to stay for the price. 10/10 recommend

The staff were very nice. The food in the restaurant was not very good but they’re are restaurants within walking distance.

Sadly we were not impressed by this establishment. Things did not start well - at check in we asked if we could get some lunch and were told 'yes of course the restaurant is open until 3pm'. The receptionist took us across to the restaurant and a lady came to tell us they were closed - despite it being 20 minutes before 'closing' Our second floor room (no lift available) was disappointing- a double bed and an unasked for single bed. The decor was tired with some odd 'boutiquey' touches although the bed was comfortable enough. There was one plug point for our use and a complicated TV system with no instructions but Netflix on tap but FTA channels difficult to locate. The bathroom was very old, with a dripping tap, a rickety shower door and no hand shower. The towels were threadbare and there was a lack of shelf space and no shaving point. No bathroom (or other) items for our personal use were provided, simply soap and shampoo dispensers. During our stay the level of cleanliness left something to be desired, with surfaces clearly untouched and hard floors clearly not washed during our stay (although complaints improved it slightly during our week). The hot water system is switched off during the night and early morning showers were cool ones. We are loathe to criticise family run hotels like this one, but frankly this establishment charges top money and delivers something far short of value for that money.

Good place. Right on one of the few Kilkenny bus lines, necessary for those with no car. The only lack is electricity, just one socket for plugging in all our electronics.

Great. Would recommend.
Very nice. Brendan and the other front desk staff were very helpful. We attended the NPC and wanted to get an early start. The morning breakfast staff was gracious even though we must have added to the pressure of preparing the morning meal.

Snobby and unfriendly manager.
I wrote an emai to the hotel asking for an early check-in. I received an answer stating that I could check-in at 2:00. Hotels.com confirmed this in their confirmation. When we arrived, Brandon/Brendan said absolutely not, 3:00 was the earliest. I told him I received an email stating 2:00. He replied, "We don't do that." I showed him the email. "Well, "she" shouldn't have done that. Then he gave me the wrong type of room and charged me more than the agreed amount.

We need to allow housekeeping staff enough time to service rooms after previous night's guests & this was explained to you.You are mistaken in saying that you were given the wrong room type - you reserved a Superior Double room with Double bed & that is exactly what was allocated & given to you.You are mistaken in saying that you were overcharged - I suggest that you look at the confirmation of reservation & your credit card receipt again & you will see that both amounts are exactly the same.Regards,

Over priced and disappointing
Room was tiny, walls were paper thin - people in the next room could be heard clearly. Breakfast was ok but no fresh fruit - all tinned. I’m not sure if the bed linen had been changed prior to my visit as I found a long black hair on my pillow the following morning (I have short grey hair so it was not mine)
