Lovely hotel. Ten mins walk along a path to Puerto Calero harbour which has lots of lovely restaurants and bars. Hotel has a Preferred Club (I didn’t know this before I booked) so certain restaurants and facilities were not available to “plebs” which I wasn’t impressed with.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating, food was good all around but I would definitely say the Blue water grill and Oceana restaurants were by far the best. The rooms were very nice if the walls were abit thin and could hear next door but I believe that’s due to the age of the property and the bathroom could do with an update but still very serviceable. It’s a short walk from the marina where there is a lovely selection of restaurants that are reasonably priced so B&B or all inclusive are very good so take which ever you would prefer

Stayed 7 nights as a solo traveller on all inclusive basis (not preferred club). Check in - Reception busy on arrival with a bit of a wait (15/20mins) but great friendly service from Sonia (I think) and free room upgrade was a lovely surprise, nice glass of fizz and cold towel on arrival. Room - Room (sea view double) is modern and comfortable, needs a touch up in places to make it 5* but it’s very close, great view (7th floor) and facilities such as rainfall shower, giant tv, nice shower products, comfy bed with a lot of pillows, minibar has good selection with branded drinks. The walls are pretty thin, you can hear chairs scraping and few hallway noises sometimes such as doors slamming. Pool - have to get in early to reserve a sun bed (8am) the removal of towels seems to be nonexistent, clean pool and very clean hotel facilities, sun beds I saw were of good quality and very comfy. Drinks from the barefoot grill - service can be a bit slow with waiter orders seeming to take priority over waiting guests in the queue but everyone was very friendly Food: bluewater grill, friendly staff and great steak, very quick service, did feel very romantic setting across all a la carte restaurants so if dining alone (like I was) can feel a bit lonely World cafe - great selection of choice for both breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet, the desserts across all restaurants are homemade and taste great, all hotel and restaurant staff are friendly, make sure to explore all areas of the worl

I recently stayed at Secrets Lanzarote Resort & Spa –and have mixed feelings about my experience. The location of the resort was somewhat satisfactory, but it was notably quiet during my stay, which might not be ideal for those seeking a livelier atmosphere. One of the major drawbacks during my visit was the disappointing food selection and quality. The dining options left much to be desired, and I found the variety lacking. This was quite a letdown for a resort of this caliber. Another issue I encountered was communication barriers with the staff. Effective communication is crucial in the hospitality industry, and I experienced difficulties in this aspect, which detracted from the overall experience. However, it wasn't all negative. Two standout individuals, Mateo and Kante, provided exceptional service and a welcoming approach. Their dedication to ensuring a pleasant stay was commendable and greatly appreciated. In summary, my stay at Secrets Lanzarote Resort & Spa had its ups and downs. While the location was decent, the food options were subpar, and communication with the staff was challenging. Nonetheless, the exceptional service provided by Mateo and Kante deserves recognition. Taking everything into account, I would rate my experience as a three-star stay.

The main highlight was the refurbed fitness centre and spa. But there was a lack of consistency in the service levels of the staff and breakfast at Portofino restaurant was at times not great in terms of staff and food options. This feels more like an all inclusive hotel and the type of guests that come here reflected this. Being such a big property, it was run like a conveyor belt with little personal touches.

This hotel experience was just alright. It's the third Secrets we've stayed at, and the other two were far better experiences. This one almost seemed like a Secrets knockoff. The pros are quiet rooms, decent pools, good gym, and a marina area within walking distance with great food options/shops. The cons start with the hotel staff. Very few of them looked anything but overworked and unhappy. As a result, any type of service at the hotel, except maid service, was quite poor. Also, I don't know why there was a mad dash every morning at like 07:00 to reserve the beach chairs, but my only guess is there wasn't enough chairs for all the guests. Further aggravating the issue was many guests leaving their towels on chairs and then not returning for several hours. The staff did not ever come around and remove abandoned seats, so you're left with removing a towel yourself if you want a seat. Lastly, this hotel does not care about VIP. It does not honor any of the benefits, and I don't know why it's still listed as a VIP hotel.

Whilst we too love our Carribean resorts, we are a niche bijou location and far from the expansive nature of our larger sisters. All guests are aware of the non reservation policy being enforced for non-ocupation before towels are removed yet they fail to respect the use for others at times. Lots of potential but let down by being understaffed and not the best quality of food. That said, the pool area is great, rooms clean and nice and the staff that are working are very helpful. I would advise that the hotel looked at their operating model to see where spending slightly more money would make the hotel much better and be more profitable for them in the long run

Differences should be more subtle
Enjoyed the experience very much but was disappointed to have paid a substantial amount for the room per night and not be allowed to use all the facilities as not part of preferred club. I think this should have been presented much more subtly and not have ‘keep out’ signs effectively around the hotel grounds. This detracts from the 5 star experience.

A very pleasant place, well built and spotless, staffed by great people. So why a less-than-perfect star rating? It's down to one point, which I'll call "Lanzarote's Got Talent". Every night, screeching banshee-wailers (aka "the top singers in Lanzarote" - apparently it's a thin bench) took the stage downstairs, with their high-decibel attempts at Whitney Houston classics penetrating every wall of this otherwise very nice hotel. I appreciate the talent market may be stretched on a small island, but the ambitions of these amateurs should really have been limited to karaoke at home, or (preferably) Silent Disco Night. No discernable talent (except perhaps for the Spanish Guitar guy) was evident in these nightly two hours of screaming hellishness, so make VERY sure to make other arrangements for the dark hours of 9-11pm. At risk of sounding a little "But apart from that, Mrs Lincoln, how was the show?" this is actually a great place to stay: spa on site, marina nearby, plenty of free car parking and great views. But - oh, "Lanzarote's Got Talent", please do your auditions elsewhere.

Sea views and friendly staff
Beautiful hotel with great views over the ocean. All staff were friendly and attentive. My only criticism was my room was next to the stairwell and so it was a little noisy but nothing that would stop me visiting again.

A really lovely hotel. Excellent food in the restaurants - even in the buffet restaurant. Very nice room with balcony. Super wonderful staff. I would just say that there is a swimming pool area that is really really nice near the sea - but it is only for member guests or people that have paid extra I think so I wasn't allowed to go to that area. Felt a bit excluded and would have paid extra when there to do so. Signage is not great either for it so you could wonder in. Perhaps clearer signage and extra pay option would be cool.

Excellent stay - extremely friendly staff, rooms were immaculate every day and fully stocked. Pool and lounge area very smart - reserve your bed round the pools early thought if you want a good spot! We only did b&b but breakfast was always very good
