Enjoyed our stay here. Food and service was great and rooms were clean. We had a valet employee bring us to the airport and we had extra time so he gave us a tour of the strip!
Have stayed here 30 times. I know what I'm getting. Love the updated (a few years ago) rooms but the mattresses could be replaced more frequently.
Sportsbook cashiers were awesome! John and Nerissa? Were fantastic and friendly.
Prices on everything have definitely increased, but not ridiculous. Understandable.
One of two tower elevators was broken. That was inconvenient at times.
What a great value for the stay! George at the front desk is amazing and deserves a raise. There was only one elevator for the tower rooms which made anytime you had to use it a looong wait.
Hotel was in a great location, easy check in and out process, restaurant in hotel was okay … we stayed in the cabana suites we could not ever find house keeping for new clean towels we stayed 4 days there was no one at our front desk for the first 3 days, our room flooded our second night from water coming in from the hallway being that no one was down stairs to assist us we had to go across the street to main hotel to get assistance it took a long time for them to get us into a new room we were not asked if any of our belongings were damaged the customer service was just awful mind you we were woken up at 7am to this .. we also had issues with using our free play the ladies were very dry and did not issue the cards properly so when we tried to use them we received error messages , when we went back so they could fix the issue the young lady was very irritated by our problem..no one apologized for any of the inconveniences . We spoke with a pit boss who was extremely nice and advised us to speak with a supervisor. The young lady who worked at the restaurant was as well very sweet to us. Overall we were disappointed with our stay . The cabanas are very outdated ..
My husband and I stayed at the Cabana Suites for 2 nights because we wanted to experience old school Vegas. We had heard great things about the El Cortez itself but the cabana suites left a little to be desired. It is across the street from the main casino hotel in a completely separate building. Our room was on the first floor facing the street so we heard traffic and also people yelling into the early hours of the night. The area is not necessarily unsafe but a little run down. The room itself was clean and very basic. If you are looking for amenities this isn’t it. The price was reasonable for during the week. Overall I probably wouldn’t stay here again, although I would probably stay in the main hotel connected to the casino. El Cortez is a great property if you like vintage Vegas.
It was clean, staff was friendly. Only downside was the elevator, one was out of commission the whole time. Made things a little slower. But other than that, it was great, went with a group of 12, everyone enjoyed their stay.
The hotel is keeping true to the vintage Vegas feel. We stayed in a Pavillion room. The room looked like a very basic motel room. The room over looked Fremont street. The noise was so loud we felt like we were in the night club next door. If we stay here again we will be sure to book the North Tower, mountain view room.
The people were friendly and helpful. Not a huge property so getting around and to my room was easy, without large crowds. Music from outside was loud and ended in the wee hours of the night. May be difficult for light sleepers, but I was fine. Though the property is a bit dated, I enjoyed staying there more than the larger properties like Mandalay Bay or Bellagio. Smaller and easier to navigate.
El Cortez is a great downtown location close to Fremont St and all downtown has to offer. Clean, updated roms, furnishings, it really feels like your stepping back in time to old las vegas. Had a wonderful stay.
This is my first time in Vegas first time at this location my toilet was broken but it was fixed I called and I walked to the reception desk to put my name on the list to be taken to the shuttle the morning of my check out they say my name is not going to list overall it was okay experience
Overall we were happy with our stay, the room itself was fantastic and the location is great to be walkable for everything at Fremont. We stayed in the "Tower" rooms, which were modern and kept very well, unfortunately one of the two elevators was out of service (early March 2024) and there was a decent wait for the elevator serving the 15 floors. Also the smoke smell in the casino was very intense and made it unpleasant to traverse the casino area getting to the room. Better casino ventilation would significantly improve the property (though rooms in the tower are smoke free and no smell gets there).

My room was not prepared prior to having been checked in to it. Instead of the convenient 1st floor room I was originally offered, I was sent to a 4th floor room with a defective television that I'm tolerating in case the 3rd option continues to get worse

It’s kind of the draw for this place, old Vegas. It was cool, rooms were nice, aura of old Vegas was there but the common areas and elevators are showing their age. Really the only drawback was the tower rooms only had one elevator functioning. That made for long waits.
