We had a fantastic stay at the Martinhal in Chiado. We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment for 4 nights and the accommodation was excellent - very clean, spacious, quiet and great that the bunk beds were in the living space as opposed to the main bedroom. The breakfast was good - not as comprehensive as other hotels I've been too - but enough choice to ensure that everyone was well fed before heading out for a day tackling Lisbon's hills. The people were lovely, the complimentary drink voucher on arrival was a very nice touch and we would definitely go back. It's clearly a very family friendly hotel and we felt very at ease there with our son (12) and daughter (9).

The hotel is very family focused. The items in the room are safe for kids, there is a highchair, toys, kid safe utensils, a kids playroom downstairs, and everyone is helpful and understanding of families. The service was amazing, and the young man at the front desk was super helpful. The bar seemed to cater to non-hotel guests but we didnt spend time there other than to get our free drink. The negative to the hotel which was pretty big for us was the noise. We could hear people upstairs, outside in the hall and outside. We did not sleep the whole night Friday due to people partying and screaming in the streets. The sirens (there were many) were manageable as compared to the music and yelling all night from the street. Our 22 month old did not sleep all night and it ruined our flight home.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Martinhal Lisbon Chiado. Our room was spacious and allowed plenty of space for our family of 4 to get over our jet-lag. We had a separate bedroom, alcove with a twin bunk bed off the hallway and a living room with kitchen. The staff went above and beyond and also provided different activities for our children for about 30-60 minute increments as needed. We did notice that the smell of cleaning supplies in one of the hallways was quite strong but it wasn’t an issue within the rooms themselves. We would absolutely stay here again with young children and loved the offering this hotel provided. The location is also tough to beat and make sure to enjoy the Landeau chocolate cake next door!

Easy location
Great place, very clean and organized, although on a steep hill. Can be very slippery if slightly wet. Wonderful team and pleasant service.

We had a wonderful five day stay. The staff was fantastic. Daily breakfast was very good. Our suite was a good size, clean and had everything we needed. Daily housekeeping exceeded our expectations. The location was very convenient. I highly recommend.

The perfect place to stay in Lisbon, chiado with kids. My son is almost 2 years old and he loved the playground at the hotel. Also we loved the room and all the amenities provided. They even left us milk, juices and fruits at our room. Also you can find bottle warmer and all the amenities for kids and babies. We requested babysitting services and I can recommend it without a doubt. Marta was the babysitter for our son for two nights and she was excellent. She took great care of our son, she played with him and feed him. The staff is so helpful and they provided excellent customer service. I wish there was a martinhal in every country :) .

This hotel is in a great location. In the middle of the hill, near the water and other great attractions. The staff are kind and helpful. The rooms are set up great for families. Lots of amenities make it very comfortable for families. There are many wonderful restaurants and shopping nearby too.

This is a great apt hotel conveniently located to the very active riverfront of Lisbon and other attractions. The apt we received was roomy with a very nice kitchen, washing machine, comfortable bedrooms and bathroom. The breakfast was included, with delicious omelettes, baked goods, fresh coffee, etc. The staff from Goncalo Nogueira (the operations manager), cook, and the 4-5 other desk staff,were extremely helpful and accommodating with where to go, how to get there, etc. A wonderful experience, a great place to stay for families and couples, great value, too.

I was surprised at how fabulous this stay was. The location is perfect and I was upgraded bc of my Expedia status (something most hotels ignore!) to an apartment. It was so well equipped and appointed. I would book this hotel again and again and highly recommend the apartment if you like a little downtime between tourist activities. The breakfast is also fantastic and complete. Overall very highly recommended!

If you are traveling with small kids, there is not a better place to stay in Lisbon. Excellent location, spacious and lovely apartments, and great cafe downstairs. They even provide milk and juice in the fridges for free for the little ones, along with gift bags containing puzzles, shoes and hats! Highly, highly recommend.

A family oriented hotel but also fine for couples. We stayed during October when most kids are in school and the hotel was perfect for 2 people without kids. The breakfast is fantastic and the location in Chiado is great. Be prepared to walk up and down hills from this location.

staff was wonderful. the breakfast was diverse and fantastic ... perfect for our family. The location in Lisbon cannot be beat -- easy walk to everything and easy to catch a taxi if needed. Having a washer/dryer in our room was a pleasant surprise and much needed in the middle of our three week trip. would highly reco.

I’ve stayed here before so I knew what to expect. This property is all about location and it’s comfortable too, family suites are set up as mini apartments. My only suggestion would be to improve on the breakfast offering - although the coffee is very good!

The staff were incredibly good and welcoming. The facilities were top notch and it is a really nice touch to have coffee, juice, milk and cookies in the room. The kids had a ball and it is very central. I cant wait to go back.
