The staff of the property was courteous and helpful. The only issues we had were that there was unexpected construction literally in front of the building that kept closing the road in front of the hotel to taxis and was quite nosy during the day and that the air conditioning unit was directly overhead in our bottom floor room and would sometimes drip a bit onto the foot of the bed. However the proximity to the tube and many restaurants and shops made up for it to us.

Very friendly and helpful staff. I have done the check in earlier than 2 pm and they kept my luggage after I checked out for a few hours. Great service

Great little hidden gem in an ever modernising part of old London. Great for heading all over the city from and plenty of options for food and beverages. Unlike many of the older "boutique" hotels in the area this one actualy feels like a lot of love goes into running and upkeep. Wil return for sure.

We booked a family room with 3 beds. Pictures showed a small but manageable room with 3 real beds and an average sized bathroom. Our room had one real bed and two roll away beds crammed together. There was no space around the beds and the bathroom was the size of an airplane bathroom plus the smallest shower I’ve ever seen. Very disappointing booking. Staff was friendly and location is convenient to train stations. As advertised there is no lift/elevator and the stairs are very narrow and steep. I wouldn’t book there again.

Great location and room initially looked nice BUT: - Wi-Fi cut in and out every 10mins - Basin was blocked and didn’t drain well - Towels left you covered in white fluff - Mattress was very worn and sunk in the middle

I want to be fair —so I’ll start with the good. The property was nice. The front desk and receptionist were also nice; however, the hotel was repairing the flooring in the hall & room adjacent to mine. The noise was awful—and I was very tired after 12 hours of travel—The noise started early on the day I was checking out —around 8 am. So “sleeping in” was out of the question. I notified the front desk on check out. I was very nice and the receptionist said I had every right to complain—I showed her the video of the noise and construction outside my door. She told me to notify the manager if I wanted a refund or partial refund. So I did —the manager sent me over to his boss—she was very difficult and implied I was lying—despite sending her a couple videos taken from my room of the noise. She blamed it on outside road work—it was literally a saw, hammer, and an electric sander—not road work. I was a bit surprised and offended because she was abrasive in her responses. Honestly, it wasn’t about the refund. It was more about being respected and validated. Anyway I told her to keep the refund—it wasn’t worth my peace of mind. My time is valuable and emailing back and forth with a disrespectful hotel employee, felt like a total waste of it. So again to be fair. The hotel was nice enough —but if you have a problem, don’t expect any help from management. Honestly, I would have been satisfied with a phone call and apology—I’m just glad the experience is over.

Room was quite near reception, elevator and right on the front street at ground level, so there was quite a bit of noise Apart from that it was clean and the staff were excellent and a great location for onward travel.

Steps from Kings Cross St Pancras station. Basement level family room #10 could sleep 6 and was quite spacious. Loved the wall separating it into two spaces. Nice quiet "bar" area with games to play. Lovely outdoor patio. Clean and comfortable. Staff was lovely. Would stay again.

Convenient location a 5min walk from kings cross. Currently (november 2023) has a building site next to it, but luckily they didn‘t start working until 8am. No elevator, only very narrow and steep stairs, so not for people that struggle with stairs.

Good for the price.
I’ve stayed here twice. The first time was in a room on an upper floor, this was very nice and bright. The most recent was in a basement room. Although the room is well maintained and comfortable there was an evident smell of sewage in the corridor outside. This did not get into the room but was unpleasant when outside. Overall the hotel is good for price with obviously excellent transport links.

Clean but tight fit
Room was very clean but very small for two people with luggage. It was on level 2 but didn’t have a lift so two large suitcases, a backpack and a carryon had to be carried upstairs, was quite difficult. Reception offered a different room on lower ground floor but still steps to get down.

Dreadful stay !
Absolutely dreadful accommodation in nothing more than a cellar in the basement! We arrived in the evening from the Eurostar and too exhausted to try to sort anything else out. Cost us near 4 times as much as an apartment in Manchester on the outward journey! I appreciate this is our capital city and accommodation will cost more but this was ridiculous and I felt really embarrassed to think that any foreign visitors would have to put up with this terrible London accommodation and maybe think everywhere was like this ! We had to struggle downstairs and along very narrow corridors to find our room which was tiny with just a valux overhead window with a small gap to let air in. We we’re obviously on the same level as the underground trains being disturbed by the noise late into the evening and again early morning! This accommodation was not suitable in anyway for paying guests and possibly had been storerooms or servants quarters in the past. The only redeeming grace was the very best English breakfast served in the Italian restaurant along the street apparently due to renovations in the California hotel so a voucher was provided for this. There were no signs when leaving the room advising where reception was so we wandered around for ages trying to get out ! My husband w didn’t sleep all night terrified if there was a fire we wouldn’t be able to get out alive !!

Ideal location
I picked this hotel for the location and wasn't disappointed. Right by St Pancras yet very quiet in the road overnight, even with a window open. This is not a bad hotel but there's room for improvement (that bathroom mould in the grouting). If I had paid £80, I would have thought it was very good value but unfortunately the room cost £180 which was a real stretch for me and it just wasn't a £180 room. The room looks like a budget hotel. It has everything you need, the bed was comfy enough, if a bit battered around the edge and it was clean apart from the deep cleaning needed. Bit tight for space but manageable. The building was lovely, the bar area and outside area was nice, reception quirky, staff professional. I would stay again for a good price.

Quirky and delightful.
This place puts the Q in quirky but it was a great choice for our two nights in London. Staff was great and the location is ideal for using the Eurostar from France or taking the tube to anywhere in London. Plenty of pubs and restaurants in the area.

Avoid as overpriced and low quality
The room was not remotely as nicevor as modern as advertised. We were in the ground floor and there was noise from the street,including workmen doing roadworks from 6am.
