Our group had a fantastic time at the Calderwood lodge! Great location and the property is spacious and the outside was great! Great location on Bone Lake and easy to get to Balsam lake as well. Would stay again in a heartbeat!
We had a great week at Calderwood Lodge. The air conditioning worked great (it was a hot week). Bone lake was great for swimming. We had plenty of room to spread out and the many steps to the beach provided lots of exercise.
The house and property worked great for our family vacation! There were 16 of us ranging in age from three to sixty six. Lots of steps to the lake but good exercise. The lake was beautiful and the fishing was good.
This property was so perfect! My group had the best weekend ever here. It’s spacious clean and so gorgeous! If you get the chance to stay here I highly recommend. We loved the bar area downstairs and the cozy upstairs.
This property was a great mix of cozy and spacious. The variety of sitting spaces and tables allowed for easy flow of activities and spreading out of the group without feeling disconnected. We had a great stay with our friends and would love to visit again.
Large group of college friends stayed here for an annual golf tournament. With a full size bar, many TVs, bonfire pit, outdoor patio and more its the perfect place to entertain large groups. The kitchen is very spacious and equipped with everything you need. Rooms and bathrooms are good size and very clean.
The place ended up being exactly what we needed. Kevin was very responsive. There is a ton of space, beds, and TVs. My only knock would be that there is only 1 bathroom on the top floor with all the bedrooms. Our group would stay again!
The property and home are even better than pictures. We had a large group together to celebrate Thanksgiving and this place is hard to beat! The property manager contacted me ahead of time to review a few things with the appliances, knowing that we would be cooking Thanksgiving dinner in an unfamiliar kitchen -- very thoughtful. The huge lower level was fun for all ages. We wholeheartedly recommend a stay here and look forward to enjoying this property sometime soon in the summer months as well.
Working with Kevin was super easy! He was accommodating and great with communication. We even left a few items at the place and he was very quick to make sure we would get them back.
As for the lodge, it’s even better than the pictures!! It’s incredibly spacious, well kept, and has a beautiful view. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay for the weekend. I can’t recommend this place enough!!
Our group had our annual February birthday celebration at Calderwood. We decided to have a Roaring 20’s theme to celebrate. The history of the bar was the perfect backdrop! There were so many great places for the group to spread out, whether playing games, watching movies or looking for a cozy corner for morning coffee or reading. The kitchen was fully stocked and has a lot of great seating. The only thing we could have used is hooks in the bathrooms to store guests toiletries or towels. However, everything else was perfect!
Awesome experience - however I don’t like when they have pictures of all these arcade games in the basement and when you get there, half have been removed and the other one doesn’t work at all. It’s winter in northern Wisconsin, the whole point of booking was to have the entertainment in the basement. Still had fun playing cards and drinking Busch lite - lots of TV’s too. I think we found a Nintendo in one of the drawers too.
We stayed at the Calderwood Lodge with 4 families (8 adults and 7 children between the age of 6 and 8). The house was awesome and we loved the modern/rustic aesthetic upstairs with the lodge/bar feel in the basement. The kids loved the bunk beds, the pool table, the video game and all the space to run around. Bone Lake is lovely and fishing off the dock was fun for all ages.
There were a few minor things that didn't affect the quality of our stay but I'll point out for other renters. The first thing was that the bedrooms were all situated in the main hallway between the kitchen and the shared spaces at the back of the house. With young kids, it was hard for any adults to sleep in because of the noise of people moving to and from the kitchen. The second thing was that, while there are three full bathrooms, they are somewhat oddly placed. One is behind the kitchen on the main floor. The other two are in the basement to the left of the stairs and are separate men's/women's. The downstairs ones were super convenient for cleaning up from the lake. The downside, in general, is that you had to walk through the house for any showering. Not a big deal if you are close with your housemates, but bathrobes wouldn't be a bad addition to packing. None of these thing would prevent us from renting again - more artifacts of the old lodge remodel.
Super cool place to stay for a large group. Loved seeing the bald eagles around the lake. The nearby bar/restaurant was nice to visit for lunch.
We had a multi-family group of 15 people, ages 10-70. Everyone had a fantastic time. The gathering spaces in the lodge are tremendous, there is enough space to gather for fellowship or spread out for solitude. The lodge is conveniently located close to a resort with gas, cold beer, and great food. The waterfront was terrific for us, we had a lilly pad along, lots of floating toys, jet-ski, ski-boat, fishing boat, and rented the pontoon from Jill for 4 days. We had amazing weather and we spent a ton of time at the waterfront. Rolling coolers helped get cold drinks to and from the waterfront. The Calderwood Lodge afforded everything our group needed and we had a fabulous week.
Wonderful location and place. Had something for everyone. We were there with our children and their families. Lots to do and see for all ages. The lake was lots of fun.
