I stayed at this hotel for 1 night 6-7 April. With most hotels of 3 stars & above, for 'single occupancy' you can expect a double bed. Not this one. The room was small with a single rather rickety bed. The hair dryer didn't work. There was no value connected with my stay. The room was grossly over-priced at £159. Booked via Expedia & advertised as 'including breakfast, on checking in I was told breakfast was not included. Altogether then, a forgettable stay

Our room and bathroom were clean and suitable for our overnight stay. It was a windowless room but perfectly adequate for our purposes. I have stayed here before and would do so again. The staff were pleasant and professional.

Room was a through route to the lift machine room. Could not adjust the heating and the window was so small it made no difference. Shower did not work. Obvious paint chipping on walls.

This was my second stay at the Britannia Hotel and i have always been found the staff to be very attentive, nothing is ever too much trouble for them, from the domestic staff to the waiting on staff and beyond. The decor is very outdated, and there was a weird smell in the lobby. Room was fine for one night but that would be my maximum stay. Staff were friendly and helpful, but the hotel itself is a bit grubby and old.

The hotel has been cleaned up since our last stay, unfortunately we were in a bedroom at the far side off the hotel overlooking Yates and with single glazed window found it very noisy, secondary double glazing would help the noise and you should get a better night's sleep.

As a wheelchair user we were unable to access the hotel through the front. Although there was disabled access ramp it wasn’t working and after 10 minutes of standing around outside we were then escorted to the back of the hotel and shown in via a very small tradesman ramp. This was unacceptable. As a gesture of goodwill our room was changed but we were at the back of the hotel. This was as far away from the lift as possible. The room window did not close properly. As a result it was exceptionally noisy all night so we had a poor sleep. In the morning we went to the restaurant for breakfast. The lift took us to the correct floor, but the restaurant was in 2 levels and the food was only accessible by steps - again this was unacceptable. Overall I would summarise as an uncomfortable stay with terrible access for wheelchair users. The staff were pleasant but there seemed to be nothing they could do to improve our experience.

Its a shame i couldnt give 5 stars.. the hotel communala reas are beautoful and jaw deopping the staff are absolutely brilliant and helpful but you get to your room and whilst not un stayable.... the wooden window frame had a huge hole in it so waa cold the cleaners didnt do a very good job scum roind all bathroom taps.... the rooms let thw hotwl down so much! They are desperately in need of upgrade cos they bring the score down to barely a 3 when everything else is great

Stylish staircase and chandelier. Did not like the door knock at 9.54 telling us we needed to leave - when we were on our way out and check out was at 10. Good value for money but some basics missing - free WiFi.
