Checked in 4/1. I had made 2 separate one night reservations for 2 nights total, check out 4/3. I had meant to reserve for 2 nights originally but made a mistake. I had informed the hotel head of time of this in writing and then again at check in 4/1. I prepaid through expedia. They swiped my card at check in yesterday and used for incidentals.
4/2 at ~9:45 p m I received a call from Paola at the front desk saying I needed to pay $13 in local taxes, since they didn't collect it on 4/1, and that I needed to come to the front desk and pay. I didn't understand why they couldn't just charge my card on file. she said it didn't work. Couldn't wait until the morning.
At the desk I asked what Would have happened if I was sleeping or didn't get the call. she told me she would call the manager and likely they would have to call the police. For $13 in taxes. Card on file. They used it for the 4/1-4/2 reservation. She said they had been trying to reach me all day. however, there were no missed phone calls on my cell phone or messages waiting for me in my room. nor were there any email messages.
Horrible service. At Check-in. They made a mistake by not running my card again. but instead paola was threatening that the police might have to kick me out if I didn't pay the $13. No sense of judgment .
I spoke to the manager gladys the next morning and she was apologetic.
