Despite the complexity of connection to Wi-Fi, this hotel is one of the best options in Moscow for sure. It is located in the center of the city, so I was able to access main touristic attractions on foot or with metro. Guest room was very spacious and cozy. Fantastic!

Nice location and nice garden seating area
Hotel was of an ok standard. Used the sauna and deep pool which is nice to have during the cold weather, I had the area to myself which made it private. The receptionist were helpful and they tried to have someone that spoke English. Breakfast was basic, very little to no vegetarian or vegan option. The room I stayed in was tired, I think the bed was broken which made my bad back worse. I ended up sleeping on the floor which I am fine with. The bathroom door also needed a good push to open. The room and the hotel was stuffy, I had the window opened all the time in the room. I stayed for 5 nights in October, the weather was unusual warm for that time of the year, this might have added to the extra stuffiness I felt during my stay. All in all, it was a basic hotel in a nice location, with a nice garden that had a pond with turtles that looked like they needed the sun but had to made do with man made light. Nice enough staff. The hotel NEEDS a makeover, the ventilation system can be improved, and for the price I think one can get better value for money in a similar establishment. Would I recommend the hotel? Yes for couple of days if you are not too picky about comfort. No for longer stay and if you like things done properly

Moscow gem
This hotel was in a very good location, between two Metro stations each a short walk away. The station area had bistros and coffee shops nearby. You could walk to Red Square and St. Basil's Cathedral in approximately 15 to 20 minutes. Staff were friendly and helpful and most could speak some English; some quite fluent. No coffee or tea making in room and these are expensive in Russia; no elevator. Definitely would book this hotel again. Tricky to identify the hotel as the Cyrillic alphabet remains a challenge.

Great Location
The hotel is situated in a very convenient area within walking distance of the Kremlin (about 20 minutes). Very well connected via metro as well. Everyone in the reception is very friendly and always willing to help. They have a good level of English and they are very polite. Maybe a bit challenging to locate the hotel since the only pictures they advertise are with the interior and there is no sign showing you that it's a hotel, unless you can read Cyrillic on the door. Other than that I totally recommend it!

Nice hotel
Stayed two nights. Hotel was clean and comfortable. Staff very helpful and rooms were a good size. Rate Included breakfast. The breakfast room was a delight to sit and have a relaxing meal. We were on the third floor and while the hotel does it have an elevator the Staff will help with you luggage. A nice stay.

It was a very nice hotel with very large and comfortable room.Breakfast was good. The stuff was very polite and helpful. The location was great. Surrounding area was nice. Transportation with subway was very convenient but the streets had heavy traffic. I would certainly stay there again or advice some one to stay int his hotel.

Great central city hotel
Lovely little hotel 5 minutes walk to nearest metro and 20 minutes walk to red square (if you walk at a normal pace, took us oldies more like half hour!) We had a standard room which was overlooking the courtyard gardens so very quiet which is what we look for. Room was large for a standard room. Plenty of eateries and bars in the immediate area. Wifi worked perfectly.

Beautiful Hotel, Great Location
This was my first visit to Moscow so I wanted to find a smaller hotel that was located within walking distance to Red Square and many other sights in Moscow. The Sretenskaya Hotel offered everything I was looking for: comfort, location, breakfast, a multilingual staff. I was very pleased with my choice. It is an older building but only has about 34 rooms total, there isn't an elevator, which was not a problem. The hotel is beautiful. My Russian colleagues loved visiting with me there and said I had found a wonderful spot. I will definitely stay here again!

Mediocre Hotel
The room which was offered to us was not the same as shown in the pictures on the website. However the staff give us the original room on the next day. The staff were very kind and attentive to all our needs. The breakfast was mediocre and can be improved. There was construction work going on outside the hotel and was very disturbing. However this was not the fault of the hotel. The rooms were a bit tired and the curtains were short in length which disturbed our sleep due to the early morning sunlight.

Recommended for service and quality
We spent 10 night at Sretenskaya Hotel, and can recommend it as a great place to stay in Moscow. The location is convenient, 4 blocks from the Sukharevskaya metro station and a 20 min walk to Red Square. The hotel itself is attractive, the breakfasts had a broad range of options and they don't stint on quantity or quality of the food, and the indoor garden (with running water and turtles & koi) made for a pleasant respite on a couple of chilly, rainy days. The room decor itself may have been a touch dated, but everything was clean and in well-repair. However, what makes the Sretenskaya Hotel stand out is the superb staff. From our first contact (by email, to get the invitation needed for our visas) to checking out at 1am, every staff member went out of their way to make sure that the service we received was impeccable and our stay was enjoyable. You'll find a number of restaurants nearby, as well as cafes, bakeries, a convenience store, pharmacy, money changers, and a bank with ATMs (still less common in Russia than most of the developed world). And, use the nearby stop on the Metro system to get to almost anywhere in the City that you want to go.

A good place to stay in Moscow.
The hotel is in a good location to get to the Metro & Red Square area. The staff were very friendly & helpful. The rooms were a good size, with comfortable beds & good pressure for the bathroom shower. The free private sauna was very relaxing. The breakfast buffet was very tasty with a large variety of food. It was great to have a water cooler in the lobby to replenish our bottles. The hotel restaurant served good food. The air conditioner did not work, but a fan was immediately sent up. We also requested a change in another family member's room- this was done immediately & without fuss.

Good value hotel near the centre of Moscow
Pleasant and helpful service from start to finish. English is spoken but don't talk quickly and don't complicate things and everything is understood. It's a warm place to be on a cold night. It's a lot more than a budget hotel but the price that I got on the Internet was very attractive. The neighbourhood seems to be safe, it felt that way to me, even when taking city walks that got me back to the hotel after midnight. There are good eating places nearby at affordable prices. I would definitely be happy to stay there again.

Overall, a pleasant stay
I had the one bedroom suite and it had a very large living room area. Make sure you ask for a room away from the main street so that it is quiet. The furniture and the carpet are dated but clean. Also, the room safe is small so will not fit any large electronic items. The breakfast is basic but decent. It is close to a number of businesses and also near a street with a number of good restaurants. Good cafes and bars just at the corner of the block. The staff is very friendly, though not everybody spoke English.

A solid very central Moscow hotel
Stayed there a couple of times. Staff could be better, although I usually don't care. You'd expect a bit more from 4 star hotel staff. 25 min walk Res Sq. 5 min walk to the metro. Hotel staff very helpful and friendly, most of them could speak English. The room was good, but a bit cold and lots of noises at night, ask for a room not on the main street. The toilet and hot water made strange noises. We booked a cab through the hotel to pick us up from the train station, it never turned up. The fare is 1200 Rubles, from the main train station to the hotel. Over all it was ok.

Ideal weekend spot
Hotel assisted me with the initial visa process quickly and efficiently. Excellent location only a 2 minute walk from the nearest Metro (Sukharevskaya) and 15 minutes from Red Square. The Metro is easy enough to get around on (use the app Yandex.metro which is invaluable to navigate the Metro - gives you both Russian and English languages). Receptionists generally helpful and the hotel allowed us to store our luggage after check out. Safety box in the room (free) as well as a minibar (chargeable). Breakfast was adequate: small continental selection of cheese and croissants as well as frankfurters, eggs and some hash browns if you want a more substantial start. Morning one was fine but on day two all the tables were dirty and we had to clear our own (about a dozen tables in the restaurant area). Room itself was clean and warm. Bathroom was fairly spacious. Nice hot powerful shower. Unfortunately our room was on the 1st floor so picked up some traffic noise overnight. On both nights we returned to the hotel late after stopping off at nearby bars but we always felt safe in that area. On check-out the receptionist tried to ask for a few rubles for the minibar but we hadn't used it. When we asked what the charge was for she couldn't tell us - just asked if we'd had a juice or chips. She wrote off the charge when we said we hadn't used anything though. Ultimately, if ever back in Moscow for a weekend I would definitely stay here again although don't expect The Ritz.

A/C broken and inside rooms which open into the indoor garden are like sleeping in a greenhouse in the summer! When we asked to move after the 1st night the receptionist was very understanding and upgraded us though when we came back to check into our new room we had been moved again into 2 seperate rooms, which we did not want, and there was a different lady on reception who was not at all understanding and did nothing to help us. The hotel hosts wedding receptions and other parties so it was sometimes noisy. The hotel is in a good location, 15-20min walk to red square but expensive for what you get, I would not call it 4 star

We had a great stay. We had taken the overnight train from St. Petersburg. We arrived at the hotel about 10:30. I asked if we could leave our luggage in the luggage room while we went to get some breakfast. Even though check in was not until 2:00, the woman at reception invited us to eat at their free breakfast and have us check in early. All in all a great experience with a very accommodating staff.

The staff were very helpful and the hotel is really handy to walk into the centre (approx 20 ins). The air conditioning was broken when I stayed and the fan they provided wasn't really sufficient and so the room was very warm. The bathroom is fairly basic with noisy plumbing but otherwise fine. Supermarket very close by to get snacks etc.

Very unexpected refreshing hospitallity. The staff was very helpful and very polite, always with the smile and very patience. If you go there, please do not abuse it, do not burn it for the rest of us. They deserve a good review due to the good job they do. The only drawback was no air conditioning. It was broken for the last 4 days I was there and no insight on fixing it. Way to go guys...

I have stayed in other Moscow hotels within 20mins walking radius of Red Square, and this is by far the best. Pro's: Friendly and helpful staff (gave my girlfriend a birthday present), boutique feel, quiet and comfortable rooms, a solid breakfast, excellent WiFi service, Cons: no elevator, no bath (only shower). RECOMMEND.

I would stay here again, even though it's a little far from the main attractions. The subway is not 'english' friendly but the cheapest way to get around. Beware of the taxis'. they overcharge. The a/c is not really cold, however we stayed in the courtyard and with the window open it was great!!

Great location and lots of potential
This hotel has a great location and the building and rooms have lots of potential. However, some of the amenities need some work. My family had a suite which had a separate bedroom with one small double bed. My wife and I chose to put our son in this room so we could use the large sitting area while he was asleep. This meant we slept on the pullout Queen size bed. This bed had a very thin mattress and was not very comfortable. Also, the AC was not working very well and getting a fan for us and for our son was not possible. We got one fan, which helped a lot.
