A must-stay in Naeba
We stayed for 3 night in end Feb. Love the Oshimas who are friendly and very helpful. They sent us to and from the nearby ski resort and onsen. They speak some English and we speak some Japanese and with the translation app on his mobile, we understood each other perfectly. You must stay here for the fantastic dinner and breakfast that come with the room tariff. Simpl Delicious and elaborate with many varieties in one meal. The room is adequate for two of us and can be cold if you are the type who kick your blanket away half way through the night. There is shelter which kept us warm along with the futon and thick blanket. family House Akashiya is easily accessible by public bus from Echigo Yuzawa Station. It costs only 660 yen and takes ant an hour. Stop at the last stop Seibu Crystal Plaza and it is a very short walk downhill to the lodge. Highly recommended if you want to ski in Naeba and Tashiro ski resorts. I personally loveTashiro for its wide slopes and breathtaking 360 degree views every which way you look. Japan's longest rope way takes you up there in 20 minutes Where the view is simply beautiful. We spotted some snow monkeys too,

Perfect stay for ski trip
The host family is really warm and welcoming. They are very well organised and took care of everything from pickup, meals to accommodation to ensure we have a comfy stay for the trip. Highly recommended place for ski holiday and experiencing the local culture. Will definitely come back again if I visit Niigata for skiing.

今回はいつもの食事を私達だけ変更していただき、感謝します。春はどうやらカメムシ君たちが多く発生するようなので、虫除け対策をしていただけるとありがたいです。

たまたま4日からの全中の大会のメンバーとぶつかってしまった。食事は宿の気遣いで一緒ではなかったが、結構夜遅くまで話をしている声が聞こえた。洗面も2箇所しかなく、なかなか使えないことがあった。食事はいつも通り食べきれないほどのボリュームで満足でしたが、窓ガラスが1層式のため、夜11時のストーブ消しだと、朝までは寒くて耐えられない。何か違う暖房策があるといいですね。

２度目の利用
毎回食べきれないほどの量の食事がでます。オーナー夫妻もご対応よく、いごごちのいい宿です。残念な部分はスキーシーズンの利用のため、夜はかなり寒くなります。暖房中は気になりませんが、就寝中灯油ストーブを消さなければなりません。非常に寒くなるので、デロンギのような電気のストーブがあると朝までぐっすり眠れます。とにかく、部屋が寒くなります。エアコンは、夏季必要ないでしょうから(笑)

マスターの人柄
決して設備がいいわけではない。 しかしなぜだろう、心が温まった。 マスターの人柄、奥様との会話、 そしてお客さん同士のコミュニケーション。 大手ホテルにはない独特の時間が流れていた。
