The check in was awkward and the employee was fairly rude in suggesting our room was a tent outside. The employees at the juice bar and rooftop bar were condescending, appeared unhappy and seemed to be unconcerned with customer service. The bed in the room was difficult to navigate especially at night and the shower was slick and unsafe with nothing to grab onto. The hallways are too dark.

Beautiful space and you can get a parking discount as well if you drive in. The hotel is located in a good area with lots of amenities, close to shopping, landmarks and public transportation. Will be here again soon!

What a fantastic place! Simplicity, elegance and style means I don’t think I’d ever want to stay anywhere else. Clever design makes every space is a pleasure to spend time in. The hotel has everything you need, everything you want, and everything you could wish for. All delivered with a subtlety, and low key New York loft style, that transcends your typical tourist hotel experience. PUBLIC is an inviting space for all, it’s seductive and alluring, and I don’t want to leave.

The Hotel itself is beautiful, the communal areas are really accessible and set up for both work and play, bar area was great and the breakfast snack shop was great (we didn't try the restaurant). If you have a room with a shared door to your neighbour be aware that it is incredibly loud (it's as if they are in your room!) Location was great for Soho/Noho Bleeker street areas- plenty of shops and restaurants around and lovely to walk around, but if you want to be near the tourists spots it's probably not ideal, although there are subways within easy walking distance so it wasn't a problem for us! Overall a lovely stay, thank you!

The common areas of the hotel are very nice and beautiful, but can get crowded with what seems to be many people who come in each day and work from their laptops. The guest room that we stayed in for 5 nights had a translucent bathroom door, so if you want privacy, you must leave the light turned off in the bathroom. This setup is not ideal for a trip with parents and a teenage daughter as we had. But the biggest problem we had was that the room next door was meant to be an adjoining room, so it had a thin door with an opening at the bottom. So you can hear every word and every activity that goes on next door. This was quite embarrassing when we were trying to go to sleep and we could hear entire conversations and various other “activities” going on next door. This hotel is too expensive to offer this extreme lack of privacy.

Hotel was below expectation. On description, they mentioned tempur pedic beds and amazing amenities. Thus far, terrible bed, cheap beddings, average looking amenities. I do not think it was worth the amount i paid for. I have been to other hotels in nyc with the same price but this was the only one the fell short of expectation. So much hype for a mediocre hotel

This beautiful property was within walking distance of tne Bowery Ballroom, Washington Square, and Little Italy. We even walked over the Little Island and Chelsea Market. Awesome food options and gorgeous amenities. The room was well sized for NYC and so very comfortable and well designed. We had an amazing view, and the common spaces are beautiful. I can't recommend it more. 10 out of 10! I'd be happy to stay here again.

Room and overall hotel location was great but the facilities were lacking - escalators were out of service, elevator floors were dirty, and hallway water service wasn’t working. Luggage lockers were all filled up, but they had overflow available in a conference room. Lack of front desk services is also a bit of a pain for a hotel that costs this much - difficult to request late check out or in-room amenities like bathrobes as needed. You will hear the music from the club until a little past midnight if you’re on the 3rd floor, and one of the lights in our room didn’t work, but we didn’t feel like there was anyone we could talk to about it.

The hotel was very nice. The rooms were decorated in a unique fashion. See-through bathroom walls were beautiful. Down the street from the hotel was very dirty And constant smell of tobacco cigars Didn’t care too much for the breakfast restaurant

It seems the draw of Public is the social aspect. Much of the space on the ground floor plus above it is devoted to areas where you can socialize and enjoy a meal or cocktail with friends. But what was nice was that there was also space to sit and people watch or sit and do work. Sometimes an intervert on vacation can feel out of place, but due to the setup and the staff one doesn't get that feeing. Staff allude "a clool aloofnesss", always helpful and their to asist but not breathing down your neck or simply telling you what you want to hear. The rooms and public spaces have a modern minimalist design and feel. Clean lines, neutral colors, and a focus on a stream lined modern day hotel.

The Expedia VIP perks are redundant here because both times I've visited you check in with a computer not a person, so the perks or room upgrades are not acknowledged - and instead you are offered an upgrade by the computer for an additional charge. Hotel is modern, trendy and clean - great offerings. Air conditioning on the 15th floor is so loud that it sounds like construction is happening.
