The hotel was ok. The building was old needs a lot of work but still comfortable. Bed, ac, cleanliness all decent. Located pretty close to main shopping streets but a little sketchy at night. Also conveniently located to the train station. All in all was a good stay

We will stay again
We really enjoyed our stay. It is comfortable and close to the train station. The gentleman who worked during the day is very very nice. We will stay in this hotel again when we visit Nice next time.

Close to railway station and easy to find. Steps away from main shopping and down to the old part of Nice with great markets and restaurants. Convenient, pleasant.

OK for a short stay, .
Just needed a place to crash after a late redeye flight. Was in my room within 2 minutes after I arrived. Step out for a quick bite on the main shopping ave, and was back for bed within 20 minutes. Woke up late, packed quickly, and walked 5 minutes to main train station.

The bathroom was cramped and the wash hand basin clogged. No place to even hang a towel.Overall the hotel was grubby.Hotel was very accessible to Train and bus station

Hi, we stayed at this hotel for a few nights, and whilst the first impression is that its a quaint hotel from the outside, it doesn't perpetuate that atmosphere once you enter. The management is nice, if not efficient. Also quite helpful when prompted. The elevator is small, an in most likehihood needs a service (it had broken down on the last day but it did not effect me. The room was small (in actual fact the smallest I had been in). the bathroom was old, but functional but again, small, although it did have a bath. I love my baths. Whilst not so close to the beach, still within walking distance at a push, but the train station was very handy. Would I recommend this hotel to my friends, no, as it does not meet their standards, but I would stay again if I had no other alternative.

Nice in June
This hotel is perfect if you just need a clean room, with a private shower and bathroom, that is convenient to rail and bus services so you can see Nice and the surrounding Cote d'Azur region. It appears the housekeeping service has been subcontracted out, so I had to complain twice to the on-duty manager that I wanted the balcony door locked and not left open and I wanted the air conditioning left on all day so the room was cooled down when I returned from site seeing. Housekeeping finally got it right and everything went OK for the remainder of my stay.

Hotel plaissance
I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights whilst in nice. In terms of price it was fairly inexpensive in comparison to other nice hotels and as a base for a solo traveller I found it adequate for my needs. The room itself was small - just big enough for a bed and a desk but as I was on my own what more did I need.? There was also a small balcony which I used in the evening to sit outside. The shower was hot and the toilet was clean. Again what more do you need? The location was good as is a 5 minute walk to both the train station and the main shopping street so is well located for travellers, the beach can be reached within approx 15 minutes walk or you can hop on the tram and be there in 5. The room wasn't cleaned during my stay however as the safe in My room didn't work I wasn't too fussed about this as it was clean when I arrived. The staff were friendly and for the price I paid I couldn't complain. I would stay again if travelling solo however if had a family I wouldn't think the rooms big enough for more than one person.

Nice hotel close to Jean Medicin & Tram station
Although I wasn't expecting anything great since it was a 2* hotel, gentlemen at the reception were very nice and friendly, my room was clean, Tram station and the main road Jean Medicin is a minute walk from the hotel, so for a single person who is going to spend most of the day exploring Nice it isn't a bad choice, but I may not stay here if I am with my family, would prefer minimum 3* hotel.

Okay for an overnight stay.
On the plus side, the hotel is convenient to the train station and to the city tram, is clean and has an elevator. The negatives are that it is shabby, not in the best of areas and the room we had was very, very, very tiny. The staff was polite and helpful.

Great hotel and location
We stayed here two years ago and were thrilled with the improvements made to this hotel since then. It is a lovely hotel and the owners and staff are very friendly and welcoming. It is clean and comfortable and simply feels 'right'. It is located within a two minute stroll to the tram which runs through the heart of the city so is absolutely ideally placed for all ages and fitness levels and yet does not outprice people like me travelling on a budget. Loved the hotel and Nice, again. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE.

staff helpful and willing. very central location and reasonable prices, free Wi-Fi. hotel, older traditional building, décor tired with some stained carpets etc. bed was comfortable with clean linen and daily cleaning of bathroom and room. No frills. although I am a non-smoker, some transfer noticeable through the walls/other rooms.

Nice, clean hotel with friendly staff
I needed an inexpensive but nice hotel relatively close to the train station. Hotel Plaisance fit the bill perfectly. The staff was very friendly, and the general feel was calm. Bathrooms were clean and the water was hot. Breakfast was pure French and not too expensive. I travelled to Italy and back from Montpellier, so I stayed at the hotel twice, and both experiences were good.

A good value hotel I was not expecting anything more than what I paid for so I was not disappointed. I found the bed and pillows comfortable and got a good nights sleep both nights I was there. The room was clean and the carpet had been vacuumed (which was not the case another big brand budget hotel close by!). The TV only has French freeview channels (fine for us Francophones). Room is compact but as I started out by saying it is good value and I got what I paid for. Location is excellent for travelling about the Cote d'Azur on the train or by bus.

The hotel staff were helpful and polite,from start to finish of our stay. The room window did not close completely close so there was a bit of outside noise but not enough to be disturbing.Very near to all emenities so this was wonderful not having to walk too far to the Tram or Trains.I was pleased with the hotel choice.

Good location
Very easy to find from the train station (5 minute walk), and very close to the main street. Small room, but we were not in the room very much so it was a nonissue. Walls are thin, you can hear people in the next room. Wifi was free, but you could only sign onto one device at a time, and you had to sign in every time you wanted to use it. Staff was very nice and accommodating. For the price and location, it was worth the stay.

The good points; It is located conveniently close to the train station and the receptionist was pleasant and quickly resolved some of the issues I had. The description says 'This room overlooks the city'. This is misleading.The bottom edge of the 2 windows are about 8 feet high (appx 2.5 m), so this statement is impossible. In fact the only thing I could see was a block of appartments which were able to look down at me wherever I was in the room! Even worse, there were no curtains on the windows. Along with the tiny toilet, the whole experience was of being in a prison cell, but without the privacy. Worse was the general upkeep. The hotel is overdue a refit by 20 years. Stains on walls, cracked sink, toilet roll holder= oversized wood screw (no joke!), hairdryer circa 1960... I had to change rooms because the television did not work. This might be tolerable if the rooms were clean. The carpets appeared to only be vaccuumed in the most immediately obvious areas. I had the misfortune to check under a table when I was vacating the room and was horrified. Additionally and probably worse, they appeared to have never been washed. My bare feet litterally stuck to carpet from being so tacky. I feel a bit bad about writing such a review as the staff I met seemed genuinly OK, but I would feel worse for not saying anything and knowing other customers would have a similar experience. Being a regular visitor to Nice, I know that there are vastly superior Hotels there for the same money.

Good location - small room
the hotel is a little old and slightly rundown, but it is definitely fine, and a good location for visiting Nice. I found I could walk most anywhere I wanted to go. The room was pretty small, not much larger than the bed, but really, what else do you need from a hotel, you are just there to sleep.

A good value hotel.
Friendly staff, clean room, continental breakfast was the cheapest for what you got anywhere, hotel located close to train station, and only 2 blocks from the tram which runs through the city, close to restaurants and shopping. No air conditioning....we bought a fan to stay cool.
