Very lovely bed and breakfast, directly across the ocean and only a couple of blocks from restaurants and shops. The staff was friendly and the chek-in/out process was quick and easy.

Innkeeper John, and mascot Skipper, are friendly and gracious hosts at a quaint and welcoming Inn across from Gloucester Harbor. We highly recommend this spot. You cannot go wrong!

Host could not be more pleasant. Across the road from the promenade and 5 mins walk to many excellent restaurants. Great common front room for breakfast & relaxing.

Great vacation location!
The location is great! We really enjoyed meeting and talking with John. Lot’s of local knowledge and good recommendations for restaurants and walking or driving in the Cape Ann area.

The Innkeeper is very nice! However, the property is very old and tired. Also, there is really no onsite service. After check-in you won't see a soul until breakfast. We had to leave for a flight before the breakfast service started and the room was locked and there wasn't even an offer to set out a muffin or anything for our departure. As a point of clarification, stayed at 5 other inns this year and all had some 24 hour accommodations for coffee or early departure breakfast items. All in all, it pains me to not be more positive, but it is what it is.

We're sorry to learn your stay didnt live up to expectations. We are a 3 person operation, so there are certainly times when we are not on site. Calling the main number rings our cell phones where we can be reached 24/7 so it's our hope that whatever you may have needed wasnt vital. Had we known when you were departing we would have left breakfast items out!

The proprieter at this guest house was very attentive. He allowed us to arrive early. The cozy room and the location on the Bay gave a sense of place.

Pros Historic home - well maintained Friendly & helpful staff and owner (and sweet puppy to boot) Wonderful location and beautiful ocean views. Very luxurious bedding - so comfortable Off-street parking In-room goodie basket Good water pressure in the shower Cons The air conditioner - while a very welcome relief on a hot day - was noisy. I acknowledge that this is a first-world problem. Overall, a fantastic experience - we would definitely stay again.

Stay at the Harborview Inn!!! The property was gorgeous with well-kept historical charm. Location was incredible - less than 5 minute walk into town and right across from the waterfront walking trails. The rooms are clean and comfortable with lots of charm. The room we stayed in was also very large, tons of space for 2 people. The building and rooms have been restored and maintained all the while still keeping the historical features of the home. The continental breakfast was a nice extra touch, and was included! The best part of the experience was chatting with the owner, John, who is often on property. He had so many fascinating stories about Gloucester and the history of the town, as well as history of the Harborview Inn. We could have talked to him for hours. His family also helps out at the Inn, so it's awesome to see that it is truly a local business. Parking is free right on property, offered a welcome basket of snacks, and access to water bottles. 1000/10 recommend!!

We loved the location of the Inn, which was right off the harbor. The sitting/dining area was in the front with large bay windows which allowed us to view the water while we ate breakfast. Also the location is perfect. Right across the street, along the waterfront is a walking path, and the location is less than a quarter mile from the downtown shopping/dining area. John the host was very friendly and accommodating. He was very easy to talk to and offered a lot of advice on the area for dining, history and exploration. Will definitely rent this inn on a return trip

This was the cutest little Inn! We stayed there for a wedding at the Beauport Hotel which was only a 10 min walk. John was awesome and so nice the second we walked in the door. We will be coming back soon to stay at the Harborview Inn!

Wonderful Beekman soap, shampoo and lotion are provided. We're always looking to evolve breakfast. It's fluid based on what's fresh.

Oh Alan, we wish you would have brought some of this up when you were here. We could have moved you to a room that accommodates a taller person!Our breakfast items are individually wrapped - both for freshness, and as a holdover we elected to keep doing since during COVID we werent serving items buffet style. It's far more sanitary this way.
