Very friendly and welcoming traditional Pub with rooms. Excellent quality breakfast and traditional bar. Rooms a little dated but comfortable and clean.

This lovely old pub offers good clean accommodation the food is excellent & nothing is too much trouble for the staff We would especially like to thank May for going the extra mile & giving us help in finding a garage that could do a quick car repair so that we were able to enjoy the rest of our holiday

This is a lovely pub with friendly staff. The room was very clean and spacious. Breakfast was excellent, local produce cooked to order. We'd definitely go again.

A Great Place To Stay
What a great place to stay, perfect location for access to the North York Moors and the coast, the food in the restaurant (inc breakfast) was superb, the staff couldn't be more helpful. The room we had was a great size with all the facilities you could want. At the end of the day we wanted a cozy hotel, away from the main drag with great food and beer and The Royal Oak Inn ticked all the boxes

A lovely stay
My partner and I enjoyed a lovely one night stay at the Royal Oak. The staff were welcoming, the room nice and comfortable (good water pressure in the shower especially) and the food (both the included breakfast and a separate evening meal) excellent. I am always impressed by small businesses that have implemented very encompassing covid19 working practices and the Royal Oak had implemented these to an extent that many national and international retail chains would have been proud of (staff wearing masks, hand sanitiser in place, changed practices to reduce contact etc), it reassures you that all the other details have been taken care of. Both my partner and I have already mentioned wanting to stay again. Highly recommended.

Superb experience
Superb experience throughout our stay. The room was modern, well appointed and clean. Every staff member was helpful and pleasant. The food was lovey and the portions very large. Overall, a great location for touring the area and I would highly recommend the Royal Oak Inn.

Royal Oak sits on the Main Street of a small village in lovely countryside. We enjoyed our stay, with helpful, friendly team, and good dinners and breakfasts. The room was lovely, but it’s location wasn’t. Tripsdale is a superior room, and well appointed, but at the front of the hotel, above the bar, and with v low old windows. In the sunny weather we had, this meant direct eye contact with those sitting outside having a drink, even when sitting on the loo! The alternative, which we quickly employed, was curtains drawn and bathroom blind down, meaning lights on in daytime. Room was also above the bar, so noisy till after closing time. So, good in lots of ways, but I wouldn’t stay in Tripsdale again.

Lovely pub in a very quiet and picturesque part of the North York Moors. Had the delicious special for breakfast which consisted of kippers and eggs.

Well situated
Gillamoor is a quiet village, very well situated for exploring the area. The Inn holds a prime position next to the green where you can sit outside and eat or drink. We had a superior room with a massive bed and plentiful supplies for making hot drinks. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We were made very welcome all staff were great the room was spot on every thing was lovely but most of all the food it was what you would get in a top restaurant the only little thing it was the only place around pubs afew miles away but yes would recommend this place thankyou . Rita

Fabulous hotel
We booked 2 bedrooms as it was my Dad's birthday. Everything was perfect. the bedroom was cute, warm, comfortable, clean. The shower was powerful and hot, what was needed after a cold day walking the hills. The breakfast was delicious and copious. We ate at the restaurant in the evening, a very good meal. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and I do hope to stay there again. Fabulous experience.
