Room Clean & Tidy but could do with updating Parking is an issue as you have to park in long stay car park which is 5 minutes walk / 200 yards from property.

The property wasnt very clean and i know its not the properties fault but the people in the next room to ours were so noisy and kids jumping off the beds which must have been on the same side wall as ours as our beds shook everytime. The staff were fabulous though and locals very friendly. Wouldnt stay here again but would pop into the bar for a drink as that was lovely and clean just a shame about the rooms.

On arrival warm friendly greeting shown to room-Basic but clean-Bed very uncomfortable “lumpy mattress”.Shower head broken no heating in bathroom so cold Given menu for Dinner on evening in pub downstairs -not told to “book a table” so on going down at 19.30pm initially told fully booked by young barmaid/waitress and told to try elsewhere.Sorted by manager and table found within 10mins-Food was excellent -Highly recommend eating there-Staying overnight-Not so much -Tired and needs major re-furb

Unfortunately I didn’t really have the best night due to the room being soo cold, maybe consider just putting the heating on for a little bit on a timer for through the night due to it being such a cold night last night Other than that it was a lovely little place to stay staff were excellent and very pleasant

We had a lovely nights stay at the tavern, we arrived after staff had left so the owner kindly came all the way out to accomodate us and she was super friendly and inviting. Quiet nights sleep with easy parking out front of the hotel. The only downside was the shower, screen was not very secure so water went all over the bathroom floor. Other than this it was a pleasant stay.

Stayed in twin room which suited us for a couple of nights. Stocked with choice of drinks , biscuits and toiletries which was a nice treat. Enjoyed meal in the tavern itself . Would return again without hesitation. Our dog was also made welcome. Shops etc very close by

Although the Restaurant gets excellent reviews the accomodation leaves a lot to be desired. Radiatir not working, damp smell in accomodatuon an room, carpet in need of deep clean or to be replaced. Shower cubicle showing moluld and damp coming througw a couple of walls. All in all not a pleasant experience.

Staff are brilliant nothing is too much trouble, though the accommodation leaves a lot to be desired , very tired decor,bedsheet didn't fit the mattress, shower didn't work properly, mould on the window frames, even though it was the middle of October the heating wasn't on. £90 per night was overpriced considering the standard of accommodation & no breakfast included. Would I stay there again? No definitely not, there's better accommodation for far less in Alnwick

Full of character, room was very comfortable and cosy and we enjoyed the view from the bay window. Bathroom was very well appointed and the heating worked very well. In the middle of town, so in walking distance to everything. The food was delicious and the staff were very nice and welcoming. Loved our stay - thank you!!

The only complaint really was that the room was quite small (although the attached bathroom was great!). Otherwise it was a very convenient location.

Nice place
Lovely stay for 4 nights. Room 1 was lovely and big, nice bathroom though the shower was adequate, hot water was not very hot. Good central place for visiting Alnwick castle and gardens. The restaurant and food was outstanding at the Tavern, staff were very nice and helpful. We had a problem with the lock on our room door, it was sorted the next day and we were refunded a nights stay ❤️

Recent stay was nearly great
Staff were friendly and helpful from the start . Our room was small but cozy and well prepared . View of the town from the room was great . Only negative was the bathroom with a broken toilet seat and dirty shower . The latter was mould and limescale covered to the point that we were reluctant to use it . Shame as this cleanliness issue was the only negative aspect of our stay . Being able to go downstairs to the pub for great food after a long day , was brilliant .

On arrival the staff could not of been more welcoming and friendly. We were able to leave our belongings in the room ahead of the 3pm check in which was great. The room was spotless, comfortable beds wtih everthing you need. The shower was excellent grest power and the tea and coffee making facilities was a nice touch. I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone great location, great service and great value for money

Alnwick Market Tavern
So bad we cut our 2 night stay to one night and that was too long. Tiniest room I've ever seen with 3/4 size bed not the double that we paid for. So small the shower room was blocked by a bedside cabinet. The shower decide to scald us randomly. There was no wondow in this prison cell ! The bed was hard. the handrail as you climb up the 4 flights of stairs was filthy. No communication about parking which was hugely important to us as we are both late 60's and I am disabled. The bar staff refused to serve us a drink at 10.30 even though we told them we were residents, even worse, the staff were sittinf at the bar with fresh drinks, no call for last orders, just a plain refusal from a girl who said she had "made up the till" even though she had been on her phone for 15 minutes. You could not pay me to go back there !

This was nothing more than a bed for 2 nights, the facilities were old, decor very dated and the stairs / corridors to our rooms were dirty and smelly (like a damp wet mop) We paid £170 for 2 nights and for the price paid I felt the standard of the accommodation and the cleanliness was poor at best. Such a shame as it doeantly reflect the bar / restaurant downstairs.

Having arrived a day earlier than my booking (my fault) the staff were excellent in finding me a room. I had room 5 as an alternative. It was clean with a nice bathroom en-suite. It was a bit light after I turned out the light. Food was excellent at the pub although I could barely move after eating. Alnwick centre is always interesting but there is a different tourist-trap attitude in some bars due to the Potter connections. That said, beer in the Tavern was good with local Holy Island Cask bitter available. Its an old pub and accommodation, so its a bit quirky and old-fashioned but, for me, that's better than the corporate blandness of chain hotels.

Dated rooms in need of some TLC.
The room is above a great restaurant, not so much a pub. The rooms are dated and in need of some TLC. Paint peeling off the bathroom wall and ceiling and discoloured. We only had the room cleaned on one day and we had to use damp towels the following days. There is no reception when the pub is closed to request services from. Overall disappointing.
