“The Almost” A dog friendly, beach getaway

“The Almost” is a bright and comfy house with every amenity from the kitchen to the yard. Relax and enjoy the beach, just a six minute walk. Then relax on the screened porch for dinner. The backyard is fully fenced to keep the dogs safe. Everything is here from the grill to the towels. Bring your toothbrush, shampoo, and come enjoy.

There are beach chairs, beach tent, fishing gear, boogie boards, coolers and many other items for your use in the shed. There is a private outdoor shower to get the sand off. There are usually two to five bikes in the shed. There are games, cards, guitar, and TV's in all the bedrooms and living room. All televisions have access to regular channels and streaming services. There is a wire dog kennel and baby gate for your use. There is a propane grill and charcoal grill.

Everything, and I mean everything, is a short walk away in this quiet neighborhood. There are restaurants, bars, grocery store, ice cream, liquor store, fishing pier, boat ramp, and of course THE BEACH.

There is no cleaning, pet, or linen fee. We only ask that barking outside is kept down when the pooches are outside.

Such a fantastic stay! Quick walk to the beach, stores and restaurants. The home was perfect and well stocked for our family. The fenced in yard allowed us to bring our dogs who also loved the stay! Owner was very quick to reply to any messages. Home was clean and the beds were comphy!

The house was everything we expected. Very clean inside, near beach & easy access to surrounding areas. If i were to split hairs, the grille had no propane, and there was a bunch of mosquitoes in the area (though prob due to the amount of rain that fell)

The Almost is appropriately named. Just about a perfect, dog-friendly place! Clean, comfortable with everything you might need for a beach vacation. We highly recommend it!

They should change the name to "The Almost Perfect". The home was very clean and had nearly everything we needed. It was walking distance to the beach. Even the neighbors were friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

Oak Island Getaway

A super week ! Walking distance from beach access , grocery store , restaurants and ice cream we gave stayed at The Almost” before and loved it. The house is always clean and inviting. Hope to go back very soon !!

Such a great house in a great location and if you have pets they provide extra bowls for them to use which is helpful! The house was very clean and it was truly a pleasant stay all around.

Amazing Stay

After renting the same house for 15 years we found ourselves having to find a new location. We booked The Almost and were extremely satisfied with our stay. Not one single complaint. You need to bring nothing staying here. Just your luggage and sun screen. If I could rate 11 I would.

Stayed 5 nights for family members wedding. Home is well stocked, plus some! Great games and activities to do. Owner is close by and ready to help if anything is needed. Highly recommend this property.

Excellent location

This house is walking distance to both grocery stores and most of the restaurants on the island. The needs were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. I would definitely stay here again :)

Life in Tranquil Harbor

My family spent 5 nights at The Almost. They had a great time. Then I arrived and spent the remaining 5 nights which were amazing. I paddled the waterway from 55th st to Southport. That was so much fun. I can’t wait to go back.

Perfect Location All You Need

Our experience was perfect, the location is incredible. Convenient to anything you need and want, including the beach. The house is just what you need while at the beach, we were absolutely blown away with the location, the convenience, the home, the backyard for our pups to run around. We really enjoyed ourselves!
