Wonderful stay at Villa Leonati
Amazing villa and charming hosts who invited us to have lunch, arranged for free transport to dinner, cooked extra food for breakfast, made best coffee we had in Italy, and gave us snacks for our road trip.

This is THE place, please go and stay there!
First tip: for those who might be worried about transportation, don't be! The host confirmed us that they could provide pick ups for travellers to and from the train station and the city center. Let's begin the best review that I have ever written. After staying in the Leonati, I guess we have to rethink what hospitality is- these folks got it all right! We were treated like Royal Family and perhaps this is something that is more valuable than artificial modern luxury hotel decor that typical travellers look for. The leonati pampered us during our entire stay. We dropped in early without substantial notice and they still made us a fresh lunch aperitivo with fine cheese and prosecco! Then, they gave us an enquisite garden tour and there is a secret garden and a mini monet style pond with lotus. The fridge has "unlimited" supply of drinks which is really awesome for the summer. The air conditioning works well too in the heat wave. Every moment that we encountered the hosts, they asked if we need anything: to drink or literally "anything" that we need!!! Exhausted from 2 weeks of restaurants, they helped us boil some potatoes so that we could have dinner at home. We slept like a baby in the comfy rooms. They are truly amiable people and we have had the best breakfast in the world world- all because it was so warm and personal- something that we didn't use to think was important in choosing for accommodation. All in all, without hesitation, we will go back for sure!

An art lovers delight.
We arrived to a warm welcome and a bottle of chilled prosecco in the garden. Villa Leonati is set on the outskirts of Padua near the motorway. Don't let this put you off. The house is full of all kinds of art, paintings, bronzes, marbles. ceramics, furniture and much much more. Our room was characterful and spotless with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was served in the salon accompanied by music, candle light and a roaring fire. We were driven to the tram stop and picked up there after our visit to the city. The owners were kind and gracious and we loved it. If you prefer the facilities at a boring standard hotel, this is not for you. However if you enjoy art, old houses, a lovely garden and thoughtful hosts you might like this.

B&B for one night en route
We were on our way to Lake Como and needed a convenient B&B en route from Venice. The Villa is convenient for the highway. The host/hostess were very friendly and welcoming, with Prosecco on arrival. Breakfast was good and included an option for a cooked breakfast. The decor of the villa is a little cluttered and eccentric. The bedrooms were very large suites but facilities are dated, particularly the bathrooms. We had no hot water in the evening or morning.

Padua - wonderful garden and house
We were so lucky to find this wonderful accomodation; it is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. It is a beautiful home which owners allow visitors to stay in. The gardens are exquisite and Ovidio one of the family, is a great plantsman especially knowledgeable about roses. The house is beautifully decorated - all the furniture and paintings are interesting and beautiful, many antiques but also art deco and arts and craft pieces and later. Having a lovely garden and environment it is 10 minsoutside the town centre but there are excellent bus and tram services; also we were given lifts by Ovidia and Cosmina. The best thing was the owners - Settimo, Ovidil and Cosmina who were appropriately friendly and generous with time and advice - and even a guided tour of stately homes between Padua and Venice. We got tickets for the Scrovegni Chapel as a result of being taken to the tourist office first thing where we were unusually lucky to get tickets for our short stay. Padua is well worth a visit - there was lots to see and we didn't see nearly all of it in our 4 day stay so will be back. One tip - lots of public buildings close at weekends so mid week might be better.
