We are a family of four from Australia. The Explorers Hotel is awesome for kids, we had a 7 and 3 year old, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the convenience of the eating areas are great and reasonable prices. The pool and play areas and fantastic, the kids loved them.
There is a bus service (11 euros per adult and 4 euros for children, return) which will take you to and from the local supermarket and shops, if you can go before you go to Disney it will help to stock up with snacks which is a cheaper option.
Transport to and from Disney is available and is shared with other local hotels, however if an accident hasn't already happened there is going to be one. The pick up from Disney back to the hotels needs to be sorted out, we managed on one day of our Disney days to get the 7 year old on the bus, but we got separated with everyone pushing and shoving and the child was on their own until one of us could push our way on to be with them, that left the other parent outside with a sleeping 3 year old who got punched in the head by another adult trying to get themselves on the bus. We had other people telling us of similar stories, so all the hotels linked to this bus service needs to address this issue before someone gets crushed. It could be an awesome service if something could be installed like the Disney rides have, there are barriers and the bus lines up the two door openings, to the barriers. Our time was in a quiet period so we'd hate to see it when its busy.
