Superb customer care- nothing was too much trouble. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Hotel super clean, and the beds were just something else. This will be my hotel if choice whenever I come to Paris.

I used to stay at "the old Le Scribe" and I admit I was sceptic when I learned Sofitel took it over, but they did an excellent job.
The ambiance is great, the staff is excellent and there is an air of great comfort over the hotel . Add the great location it all !

Loved the friendliness of the staffs. Jisaan at the reception made our stays very pleasant. Especially when you are travelling with kids. And the supervisor gentlemen at the breakfast area was so nice. Even greeted us every morning with our names. Amazing experience. Definately coming back !!!

Very comfortable and well-designed rooms. Extreme attention to detail. Terrific use of accent lighting. Every surface considered! Very comfortable beds and linens.
However, this felt a bit more like a "business hotel" which was fine as I was not on a romantic trip - but if I were, I would choose a different hotel. The lobby decor was much less-considered than the design of the rooms with a random collection of decorations that did not feel elegant or thoughtful. That said, wonderful staff and overall great experience.

5 stars with no electricity!
The first night was disappointing. We had to spend most of the night without electricity. No A/C and we cannot charge our cellphones. They kept saying we are working on the problem, but it was not back till early morning!

Top located. Wonderful rooms. Great service.
However, waiting times at reception are long (only 2 desks for such a big hotel). Breakfast is the worst breakfast ever experienced in a 5 Star hotel; underground, no ambiance, loud, chaotic!

Water turned off the last night of my stay. Wanted me to switch hotels at 8pm when I was leaving for the airport at 5:45am the next morning. Told me they would credit my last night which they didn't and have not responded to my emails.

no place for dining, even when we try to use the place for food during the evening Anya told us there is no way to arrange it - it booked , occupied people from outside, so we can not have stacks, dinner, even drinks - bar was closed on February 14. ridiculous

I had stayed in the Hotel Scribe several years ago and so was familiar with the hotel and its central location. The Scribe has had a significant refurbishment in the interim and is now a plush and sophisticated hotel. The location can hardly be bettered. It is possible to walk to all the major museums and galleries. First class shopping and restaurants are close by.
The welcome at reception was friendly and professional. I think I was upgraded and had a top floor room with views across the Paris rooftops towards the Place Vendome. The room was comfortable and quiet. If I had a quibble it was with the lighting. It was almost impossible to read anywhere in the room. Breakfast was perfect with a wide selection of hot and cold fare serves by an incredibly friendly crew.
Special mention needs to be made of the Concierge who helped me with several excellent restaurant recommendations and bookings.

Unique was care front desk and concierge provided during my entire stay.Helping with my trips around Paris, reserving taxis and etc
Location is great next to Garnier Opéra and Shopping at galleries and famous Honoré street.
Also waking distance to Louvre.Definitely highly recommended

Nice hotel in a great central location. The rooms are very big by Paris standards. You should check however if the building works (ongoing Feb 2020) are finished - it is extremely noisy from 0900, and one night the electricity was turned off to allow works.
