My girlfriend and I just had a four night stay here (in late-August, which is supposedly the "off season") in one of the four beachfront bungalows. Firstly, let me begin by stating that the staff here is fantastic. So kind, helpful, courteous, and good at what they do. Everyone spoke very good English and everything came with a smile. What makes this an ever sweeter deal is that we got curious and checked around the neighboring resorts for their prices. There is NOTHING in this area that competes with Ananda's prices. Yes, it is a bit smaller than some of the others and maybe doesn't have so many bells and whistles, but we were so absolutely blown away by what they did offer that it didn't even matter.
The breakfast buffet was really delicious and had enough options that you didn't get sick of it after a few days. Lunch/dinner prices are also very comparable to the vast majority of neighboring restaurants. There are plenty of Vietnamese options as well as sandwiches and other more western foods. Decent beer prices and fresh coconuts too!
The room itself was great for us. Very large, really good AC, and a huge bathroom. Bed and bedding weren't anything incredible but were still nice. Our room included a mosquito net. One small complaint, albeit it very small, is that the thatched roof leaked a little while we were sleeping. I'm sure this just comes with the nature of staying in a bungalow. Some geckos and mosquitos made an appearance but, again, I think that comes with the territory. Luckily this is not a malaria area, so we were not overly concerned.
Waking up every morning and opening the curtains to a beautiful view of the infinity pool, palm trees, beach, and ocean made it all worthwhile. Absolutely worth every penny!
