Our first impression of this hostel wasn't good due to two reasons: firstly, we made our booking via Hotels.com and paid the full price before our visit. However, during our check-in, their staff said they hadn't received our payment and refused to let us check in unless we paid again. Obviously, something went wrong, but they didn't want to resolve the issue by listening to our situation. They frankly said 'they don't want to listen,' and their attitude was clearly impatient. Nevertheless, one of their members kindly checked our bank transaction (at least that made us feel they were resolving the issue). But in the end, we had to pay them twice at the hostel and spent two hours on the phone with Hotels.com customer service to request a refund.
Secondly, we booked a room with a private bathroom. However, the condition and cleanliness of the private bathroom gave us a negative impression as there were male and hair residue. We didn't raise it with the staff due to our check-in issue, and we used the shared bathrooms instead. It is also worth mentioning that the cleanliness of the shared bathrooms was of a high standard, and they did apologise after we contacted Hotels.com.
