Odinsve was the perfect stay for me and my 3 girl friends. We all arrived at different times and the front desk was able to accommodate us all. The front desk staff are wonderful and can provide suggestions and insights for all travel needs. The rooms were spacious and clean. The bedding also fit our expectations. I would suggest a balcony view in order to see the sunset. I would stay here again!

Hotel was amazing, except for one thing. Street parking is very cheap and close enough walk to P3 zone (free on weekends). The only bad comment is that I booked a Junior Suite with mountain view. Some rooms had an amazing view of the mountain range. However, my room (401) looked at REK airport and water. Little to no mountains. Other than that very minor thing, neighborhood is safe, a quick 5 minute walk to shopping/bars/night life, and very clean everywhere

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Odinsve. It was the perfect location, walkable to many areas of the city and close to the bus for excursions. The staff were friendly and the property was nice and quiet. Our room (a double) was just the right size for two.

The best thing was the central location-2 blocks from shopping & church, 6 blocks to Harpa. Room was basic. Smaller than what I am used to, but was not in it much, so no big deal- just something to be aware of. Chose due to affordable price & location. The only complaint is the sink- difficult to brush teeth & impossible to wash face due to size and shelf covering half of it - resulting in water on floor. Recommend they remove the shelf to improve the experience. Restaurant was good. Staff was wonderful!

So amazing
From start to finish (start being before we even departed because I called to confirm some details) the stay was INCREDIBLE! Such a great location it was easy to walk around and explore. Concierge staff was phenomenal - Gunnar, Alberto, Isaak, and the two blonde women to name a few (sorry didn’t remember their names). Super clean, friendly staff, extremely accommodating with great recommendations! This was for my birthday and it was always my dream to see the northern lights, and it was sensational. We will definitely be back!

This hotel was perfectly fine for the few days we were there. Our room was a bit spartan and the furniture a bit worn. I wish we had reserved a larger room. It was conveniently located to shopping and dining. Staff were lovely and having the restaurant downstairs was convenient.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Odinsve! Excellent service, beautiful modern room, and very accessible. We picked it because of the location and were not disappointed. We were able to walk everywhere we needed to go, including from our tour drop off location. Every question and need we had was met by the wonderful front desk staff. And the best part was the meal we had at SNAPS, adjacent to the hotel. We stayed on a Saturday night in December, and were still able to snag a seat for perhaps one of the best meals we've had all year. Fantastic Christmas Dinner options in a festive lively atmosphere. The only complaint I have about the hotel was the lack of noiseproofing. I was able to hear quite a lot of normal movement from rooms upstairs (setting things down on surfaces, rolling suitcases, talking) which made falling asleep a challenge. Perhaps fans could be made available to help alleviate this.

What I didn't like was the threshold on the bathroom. It was high enough to easily stump your toe. I loved the location, the atmosphere, and the staffs willingness to accommodate our needs. Having a nice restaurant connected to the hotel was also nice.

Great location and staff excellent. I had an issue with the heating in my booked room and there wasn't a similar room available so I was upgraded at no additional cost. Staff also helpful in booking tours giving all the options and not pushing for the most expensive ones which was appreciated. Location is good, walking distance to the main sights and as a single woman I felt safe walking back to the hotel alone at midnight after an aurora tour.

Great stay. Would highly recommend.
Just got back from a lovely stay. The hotel staff were helpful and attentive. The hotel was in a great location in good proximity to everything. There is free parking at the church which is located a 5 minute walk away from the hotel. It was ideal and I couldn’t recommend this place enough.

I have a friend who spoke highly of Hotel Odinsve which is partially why my wife and I stayed here for 2 nights. We were delighted we stayed as the location is very central to a lot in Reykjavik. The BSI bus terminal is just a short walk, there are many restaurants and shopping stores nearby and it is very safe to walk at any time. The team at the hotel is very friendly and everyone who attended us was super helpful and approachable. The one small thing that would have made my stay even better would have been a shower head that actually functions. In the bathtub, we were not able to get the shower head to work. We were able to bathe but weren’t able to use the shower head. But that aside, everything was excellent!

Clean, comfortable stay. Pleasant staff!
We spent 6 nights sleeping on the most comfortable beds. The hotel was immaculately clean. Staff was pleasant and helpful. We ate the breakfast buffet twice. The hot food was hot and all cold food was on ice. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. We would love to travel to Iceland again, and we will definitely check availability at Hotel Odinsve first.

It was more like a hostel or a two star motel rather than 4 star VIP stay. A small room with smelly shower hot water which was the only smelly one in Iceland.

My wife and had the pleasure of recently staying at The Hotel Odinsve. The staff was wonderful . They were pleasant and very helpful . The hotel was clean and centrally located. We would recommend Hotel Odinsive to anyone visiting Rekjavik.

The picture and description of this property is not accurate. The picture was maybe when the hotel opened over 20 years ago, it does not look like this. The room was like a box and it needed a facelift as the whole hotel did. One good thing on this property was the restaurant Snaps. The service was great and the atmosphere was fun. I would not stay at the hotel, but would go to the restaurant.

The hotel is in a great location. The breakfast buffet at Snaps, the french bistro which has direct access from the hotel lobby was delicious and super convenient when planning our day.

Weird 299hz hum that drove me crazy
The front desk is open 24 hours and staff were very friendly, one saw I was working in the lobby and offered me coffee. The location is pretty good, right next to the main touristy shopping street and within walking distance of lots of stuff. The lobby was nice to sit in and the wifi in the room worked pretty well. Unfortunately, the entire building has a constant hum at 299hz (I measured it) and it was loud enough at certain points in the room to drive me crazy. It seemed to come from all around the room and was present throughout the building, it was probably connected to the pipes or AC or something. The internals of the building were pretty dated, so the lift was tiny and there were raised bits on the entrance to rooms that you could trip over. The rooms use physical keys rather than keycards and you have to leave your key with the front desk. The room itself was small but reasonably clean and had a decent desk, so if you're travelling solo for business and get the room cheap then it's not too bad. They did let me store my bags in a room for a while and the front desk was 24/7 so that was good, but there was no ticket system and they just left the room unlocked. It didn't feel particularly secure. Overall if it's very cheap then it's fine but if it's not too much more expensive I would go for one of the larger chain hotels. That weird 299hz hum really wasn't good.

Very comfortable hotel. We arrived later in the evening due to a late flight and it was very nice that there was a restaurant in the hotel so we did not have to go searching for food. Only about a 20 min walk from the main bus station and close to downtown as well.

Hotel Odinsve is located near the walking/shopping area. It's about a 15 minute walk to the harbor and maybe 20 minutes to the National Museum. Desk staff is friendly, efficient and helpful. Billing was accurate. A restaurant, Snaps, is attached to the hotel; we ate breakfast there, a buffet, and found an excellent variety of good food. Our room was small but worked OK, bed was comfortable, the bathroom was great. Across the street is a restaurant which attracts late night patrons who we heard until about 1:00 am.
