Explore unusual objects, such as shrunken heads and a giant transformer made of car parts. Race around lasers and try to balance in twin spinning tunnels.

Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Surfers Paradise is a proudly self-proclaimed “odditorium.” Plan a visit to this world of interactive fun and adventure as part of your vacation to one of Australia’s most popular beachfront destinations. Enjoy unusual and magical experiences in 15 themed galleries of exciting and bizarre exhibits and hands-on displays. Race through a room filled with laser beams, breaking as few of them as you can then do it again to beat your own personal record.

The Australian Odditorium is part of the Ripley Entertainment empire of more than 90 attractions globally. The American cartoonist Robert Ripley started it all with his newspaper comic strips in 1918. He was a curious man who loved gathering odd facts from around the world, which he published in a paper and later also in books. These became known asRipley’s Believe It or Not!publications. Now many decades later, visit the Australian Odditorium, featuring old favorites as well as modern displays with interactive gadgets, movies, videos and a Smartphone app that adds to the fun.

See strange and beautiful artwork depicting Marilyn Monroe, Michael Jackson and other celebrities. Get a close-up look at a giant transformer, shrunken heads, rare miniatures, dinosaur eggs, fertility statues that have produced babies and a model of the world’s tallest man at 8 feet 11 inches (2.72 meters).

Get some target practice at the shooting gallery, navigate the laser race, find your balance in the double spinning tunnel illusion and try to open the Mystery Gate. Dance with your friends and watch your moves on giant screens in the Recollections dance room. Watch children enjoy themselves on the Kids Crawl and visit the Astounding Attic.

Ripley’s Believe it or Not! Surfers Paradise is located in the Cavill Mall, a very short walk from the beach. The Australian Odditorium is open every day and night, except after dark on New Year’s Eve. Visit once and return on a hot or rainy day to enjoy one of the Gold Coast’s few indoor and air-conditioned attractions. Park in nearby lots or use pay and-display parking on neighboring streets.
