We LOVED our stay here!! Walking distance to the train station, and all major attractions. The staff were awesome! So helpful and friendly. We lived our rooms. The rooftop restaurant and bar was incredible-the view and food were amazing. The breakfast on the rooftop was a magical experience. Can’t recommend this place enough.

Hotel is located literally 5 min. from Rome Termini, safe, walkable area, surrounded by restaurants. Personal opinion, bed and mattress could have been better. Breakfast was included and it was delicious. Rooftop will give an amazing panoramic city view.

Travelling to Roma we always try to book this hotel, very good experience. Tasty breakfast in the roof top restaurant with the wonderful view of the city- really good start of the day.

I loved the old fashioned charm of the rooms and building and the breakfasts were fresh and had lots of variety. The baristas and serving staff were great.

This hotel is directly across from the beautiful St. Maria Maggiore basilica. It has a roof top(6th floor) garden restaurant with a spectacular view. It is very centrally located to many sites, Trevi fountain, Colosseum etc. Rooms were very comfortable with a large bathtub to soak in after a long day of sightseeing. Also 2-3 blocks from the train station.

Enjoyable stay
The hotel is conveniently placed for both main termini rail station to and from airport. Also the metro station is about 100 metres. Rooftop deck has great views. Breakfast is continental style and pretty good. Evening drinks at the bar are a bit pricy as is the dinner. The drinks I would recommend as the views are spectacular. The dinner was less spectacular so you may consider dropping this from your itinerary. Our stay was very comfortable and enjoyable. Btw book your entry tickets long time in advance if you want particular times. Also try to go to Rome when it’s not too busy (if there is such a time). Go to the top of St Peter’s Basilica it’s really great. Consider dropping the Vatican visit as it’s so overcrowded it’s ridiculous and not enjoyable (watch a tv documentary instead)…

Very lovely room. Loved the lounge on the rooftop and the restaurant on the rooftop for dinner. Lunch with the outdoor seating was delightful. Courteous staff, and very helpful with calling in for taxi service. I would probably bring two chargers for plug-ins.

Close to train station. About 20 minute walk to the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps. About an 18 minute taxi ride to The Vatican. Wonderful complementary breakfast at the rooftop restaurant. Our deluxe queen room overlooked the Basillica Santa Maria de Maggiore and square where there was mass every night outside! We felt very safe here. Our room was large with double sinks. There's a great gelato shop right next door with several small restaurants around the square. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. They arranged an airport van for our airport return (e60 in cash). The driver was early. We would definitely stay here again. 😊

The rooftop bar was great and the views were wonderful. The hotel has great old world decor and charm. The only thing I didn’t like was the bed was a rock. For the price of the room, you’d think they could upgrade the most important thing, the bed.

This was a pleasant surprise. We just wanted a property that wasn't too far from the train station, and this was much nicer than we expected. It's full of charm and character and the roof top bar was an excellent place to enjoy a drink.

Property was excellent. Well done smaller hotel. Able to walk around and get to sties and dining. Felt very safe. We had the view and sounds of Santa Maria Maggiore from our rooms which just added to the experience. Highly recommend.

The Mecenate Palace Hotel has a lovely ambience with a warm friendly welcome by all the staff, especially Lianna at reception. Our room in French Provincial decor had stunning views of the Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica which enhanced our visit immensely.

The property was only ok.. tired and I am sure in it’s day was nice. Off the beaten path and the area did not feel safe. Nice roof top bar. The front desk staff (all) were the rudest people and made us feel that they were doing us a favour. Would not recommend.

Our stay at this lovely hotel was absolutely perfect. From the front desk staff being so kind and helpful to the quaint rooms to the spectacular rooftop bar and restaurant. Walkable to Coliseum and Trevi fountain. Will stay again if ever in Rome!

Convenientrly near Termini to save on taxi from/to airport or port. The area is not good. Saw a lot of pickpocking. The only great thing was breakfast at the rooftop.

This is a great hotel! Loved the staff , the view at the roof top is amazing ! Our room was spacious and because we there was 3 of us we had the room with our own private terrace and a separate room/ with pull out couch for our daughter . And, it’s only a 10 min walk from Romini train station. Absolutely great place !

I have stayed at the Mecenate Palace a number of times and have never been disappointed. It is just a 7 minute walk from Termini for bus, subway and train. The staff is always excellent and helpful. There is a roof top cafe to end the day with a snack and drink. Better yet the excellent and complete breakfast is also there to start your day.

The staff were lovely. The location was ideal as it's walking distance from the metro and Roma Termini for trains and busses. The property was clean,the restaurant food was delicious, and breakfast was complimentary.

The hotel itself is beautiful and literally across the street from the Maggiori - can't beat it. Breakfast is first rate and the rooftop location rocks! This was our second stay there when in Rome, and we would definitely recommend it!!

Only stayed 1 night in late May. Great location near train station and Colosseum. Also a very nice breakfast on the rooftop. apparently the air conditioning doesn't start until June 1 but the evening cooled nicely as did the room.

Beautiful but a bit warm without the A/C
Room was clean and beautiful and we had an amazing view. Bed was comfortable as well! However, despite listing "Air Conditioning" this is only available certain weeks of the year, so despite the temperatures outside (80+ degrees F) creeping into the room, they could/would not turn the air conditioning for the building on. They did give us a fan when asked. So if you're a stickler for a chill room best check in advance when they turn that feature on.
