There were numerous things in the room that need to be reparied. Inside saftey lock broken, leak under the sink, cup/toothbrush holder hanging from wall, grab bar in tub was not secure, top of nightstand was severly damaged, no deadbolt lock for exterior door. Additionally, the bath towels were more like hand towels. And the AC unit was very noisy.

Room was dirty. Woodwork around doors was filthy! Chipping paint on inside and outside of doors. Ceiling fan was filthy !!! Had a queen room with 2 beds and the mattress were different, one was so old and worn you could feel the springs the other bed was as hard as concrete.The grounds by the pool were nice and the pool was kept nice. The poor staff was working on cleaning rooms from sun up till sundown. This was definitely a first and last for us

Place needs a good cleaning and repairing and painting. Could be so much better. Hair dryer didn’t work, just generally run down. The back courtyard with pool is PRIVATE and generally nice. But the rooms need work. Will not stay there again.

I don't mind a place being old, but I do not like it when: Dirty -large roach running around the bathroom Screen on bathroom window torn-big area-never opened the window Bathroom door was warped & wouldn't close properly Furniture chipped & one drawer in dresser was broken & fell out when opened Clock beside the bed made a "weird" noise - ended up disconnecting it And last but not least-OUR ROOM WAS NEVER CLEANED OR SERVICED- Went to front desk to complain, manager was apologetic but took no action. The only thing this place has going for it is that it is centrally located to downtown Venice, the beach and golf Glad we had only booked a two night stay.

I liked the area, but the actual facility needs some upgrades. Furniture was old and battered. Bathroom only had a crank open window for ventilation. There was no facial tissues in the room. Pool was in great shape. For the price I expected more.

That Island Sun is located in the beautiful city of Venice, and Island Sun is a 30 minute walk to Venice beach and the lovely downtown of Venice.The price to stay there is reasonable. The pool is excellent & heated.

This is a hidden gem. It is a “gently used” property. However, it is extremely clean and the courtyard and pool are exquisite. We love staying here.

This is a very nice older style hotel. Beds were comfortable, shower hot and clean. It is not in the style of the modern boxes that we have become accustomed to. Will definitely stay here again.

Roach Motel. The walls and the floor come alive at night. I would never stay another night here after going to the bathroom and stepping on 2 cockroaches the size of my index fingers. Told the manager and they did nothing about it.

Usually this is a great place to stay, as they have been updating the rooms, and the staff is very friendly. This time, I was in my room for less than an hour and could not breathe due to the overwhelming smell of mold. The person that came to my room to see what was wrong, told me that the smell was an air freshener not mold. I’m allergic to mold, and know what it smells like, it was mold in the room, not an air freshener.

Very clean impressed
I ended up staying here for at least a full week as I was transferring jobs and relocating every single day. My room was cleaned bed was very comfortable. There is also a fantastic bistro attached to this hotel and it’s very close to the beach so on days off, I was very close to the beach and downtown Venice, where there was some awesome shopping and it was just a good experience matter fact, I’ll be back Within a week great customer service I give a five stars and priced very fair

Clean but bad condition
When we first got to the room, we had trouble opening the door because the knob was out of socket. There was a sizable microwave and mini fridge with a freezer, which was helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the room itself was clean. The support bar in the shower was falling apart and the floor of the shower was squishing around like a water bed. The hairdryer did not work and the shampoo conditioner was too in one. All of the rooms face towards the pool and seating area, like a fish bowl. Overall, this is an okay, cheap, clean place to stay for one night if you don’t care about the condition of the room.

I have never seen such a filthy and over priced place before and the Florida health has the pool shut down. People next door very loud and smoking cigarettes do not stay there
