I liked the green on the seabass choice, and would have liked tenderstem or plug another green on the sides. The bath plug did not work very well. The food and drink were good value.

Fantastic stay
food was amazing and the staff are super friendly and caring and look after you. Special shoutout to the lady that runs the gym, she is fantastic, caring and amazing attention to detail and makes you feel super welcome! love staying here when away for business, and will definitely come again.

Home from home
We had booked a one night stay at the Stone house hotel but wished we had stayed for a few more. We felt welcome as soon as we entered the reception and greeted by a smiling face, we were then given a room upgrade which was a lovely gesture.The room was well equipped and spotlessly clean. This is the most relaxed and homely hotel that we have stayed in and will definitely return.We wished we had planned a longer stay as the hotel had a pool and other ameneties that we would love to have used, The hotel also has a very inviting Indian restaurant that we will eat in on our next visit..We would highly recommend the Stone House hotel..

It was a nice hotel but needs a upgrade. You cannot move 6in and the floor makes noise. Worse uncomfortable bed i have slept in for a while. Shower was boiling hot or freezing cold couldn't sort it

Chilly but comfortable
Interesting place, mix of older building and newer. Our room in the older part of the hotel was small and a bit chilly in November but comfortable. Friendly and helpful reception staff.

Very old fashioned! Smelt Damp all over the hotel with air fresheners everywhere. Very tatty and hot tap did not work on sink. I will never stay there again.

A gem of a hotel!
What a beautiful hotel. Exceeded my expectations. Lovely room, modern, very clean. Great facilities…nice dark room to sleep…good heating and ventilation…lovely bathroom & shower…comfy bed…easy to park…staff were very friendly. Room service dinner was incredibly good! Breakfast was beautifully cooked. I will be staying here for all my future trips in that area.

room 19 - window broken, taps both give out warm water, as window does not close properly it whistles all night long. Told staff who did not care, emailed hotel, who also did not care as no reply received

The pool was freezing, and the room was ok, but there was dust by the window in the bathroom, also the sink and shower were dirty and sealant. I will not stay there again. disappointed.

What a strange place
I arrived at the hotel 15 minutes before check in. Plenty of parking, which was helpful. I went to reception to check in and was promptly told, before I could even finish my sentence, that I could wait in the bar until 3pm and have a drink. I waited ages for someone to serve me. By that time it was 3pm. I thought I may go to the gym before dinner but I discovered the fitness machines were essentially in a corridor with the "leisure club" reception within breathing distance of them. It didn't make for a pleasant workout environment so I left. This is probably the loosest use of the term leisure club that I've ever seen. The room was fine, comfortable enough, although pillow choice wasn't great and I had a bad neck the next morning. I understand pillows are a personal preference though so it may be fine for some people. Dinner is a choice of Indian or "Continental" - a strange selection of meals. I opted for a steak. It was awful, barely any meat, mostly gristle. I mentioned it to my server and they said they would tell the chef. He cleared my plate (still had my remaining sides on it) and brought me back a new steak on a plate. No sides, literally just a steak like that was ok for my meal. I received a blank stare when I queried this. Breakfast was ok but I've had better at Wetherspoons. Overall, a very strange experience. I'm glad I only stayed for one night.

Overnight wedding accomodation
Weekend stay whilst attending a wedding, our garden view suite was very good with lots of space. Unfortunately the pool heating was not working so the pool was cold and the pool facilities really could do with updating.

All was good. Nice hot shower, good dep sink for shaving, comfortable bed, very good breakfast, friendly staff. Only small niggle was not re stocking the milk for the in room drink making facility.

An unexpected gem!
The team at the Stone House Hotel were absolutely brilliant. They were hardworking, professional and friendly. The rooms were comfortable and had everything needed. We ate at the hotel restaurant and can highly recommend the curry menu! All in all we were very impressed - it's an unexpected little gem of a hotel!
